  1. Guess this will be the last good prep for Pioneer then. Im in.
  2. Going to see if the training/planning/paining over the last few months have paid off. Heard the boys have no shortage of uphills in that valley - gonna be a gas. Go till you blow - I guess
  3. Look easier than it rides.
  4. Oh for sure!!!! You still have to make up for last years errors on this race - time to show you are a better, stronger harder man this time round - with more chest hair!!!!
  5. Looking forward too some off-road events. Speaking of, are we seeing you on Sunday? If you hurry you can still make church afterwards!
  6. FAAAARRRRRKKKKKK stakes that is beast of a set. Just check you toes quick - any webbing?
  7. Heard it might be picked up by another events company + title sponser
  8. Suit me a bit better - I cant keep up with the roadies, that`s why the Rockman X is so appealing. When do entries open again?
  9. By the location I guess there isnt much current to contend with - or am I talking out of my ass? I don`t know that side of the world all that well but Im guessing there wont be much in alt gain on the bike and run.
  10. Boy is rackin up the points! Well done to Richard!
  11. I think he took some flack here a while back. Good to hear some positive feedback from happy campers!
  12. That translates to about 90 - 110hrs Its time.
  13. Seems like the D-4D is just too hot. Have to look at other options.
  14. They short out the small indicator which for some reason unlocks the doors. Then they pop the bonnet and swap out the ECU/PLD and put in a new one that corresponds to the key they have. then start and drive off - in style, listening to your tunes. Sucks
  15. Surprised that you managed to take in any of the scenery at the pace that you were going! Hope that prize money bought something other than a lap dance at the `Stink-Flamink`
  16. @mad about mtb - Those X2`s has never let me down! Thanx again!
  17. Yip - seems to be a problem. Same a Babba`s lodge and Cullinan. Not good to see.
  18. Dont know if this helps but here goes : I have 2 x 203mm rotors + adapters in my cycling cupboard - for 2 years now. X2`s and M4`s provide enough stopping power. As for the fork rating - I know the Reba can take 203 - but I think the Sid not - think, not sure. Never dealt with lefty`s but at your weight, in XC application - 180/183/185 should be plenty. 203 is normally for DH and big guys - by big, I mean 115kg + and close to 2m and talented on the downhill. 180 front and 160 rear is standard issue for XC but smaller guys run 160 front 140 rear for some reason?
  19. 203mm on 65kg is a bit overkill - If I may. Momentum = mass x velocity. I ride Hope X2 on 183mm and Im 85kg - if find it sufficient and I do ride stupid - not graceful. That being said - the main reason I dont go to 203 is because Im afraid the fork might not handle it. At 65kg that is a bit less of a problem. Try it and see - you can always go back to 185 if needed. Would be keen to listen to your findings. Make sure your fork is rated for it
  20. I went from Zula to a Spearfish - very similar in feel with the Spearfish feeling a bit `longer` on the top tube - more comfortable. Im 1.83 and the large Zula felt a bit cramped. There is a 2nd hand spearfish in the classifieds if you are looking for a large and ngala24 might be selling his small. That is my experience - never rode any of the other mentioned
  21. Try and get hold of Vincent Durand - he is the agent for Bulls bikes locally. He is n Paarl. Reach him on tiwtter @vincent-durand or PM me for his nr. Cool guy to deal with Edit - spelling
  22. Hey Tyerone, There is a place in Erasmuskloof - Kariga st - just close to H/Strydom/Rubenstein crossing - saw it running past there the other day. Also at the gym c/o genl Louis Botha & Douglas Scholtz I know there is also something at Menlo Park High school. Cant vouch for any of them as I train at Virgin. Hope it helps
  23. Great race - hung onto Rattlesnake`s wheel last year but fantastic event. Make sure you can climb!!!!!!! Most of the downhills are fast - but not that technical. there are a few you need to be careful of but you can walk them if you are not sure. Well worth it and best value for dosh race around!
