Agreed - just be carefull - you get 3 different types op pressfit BB`s. 1. GXP Pressfit - made for older, smaller BB shells for GP crank - think the OD is 32mm 2. PF30 pressfit - made for BB30 cranks - 46mm OD 3. BB30 pressfit - made for BB30 cranks - 40mm OD Measure your BB ID before you buy - there are always options on configuration.

Yip - That is the one option - then you have to run a std GXP outboard Bottom Bracket on it. The other option is to get a BB30 bottom bracket and add the spacer set to be able to accommodate the GXP Crank. Either will work.

Most bike shops have them now days. Wheels manufacturing makes some and there are some others too. Shouldn't be to hard to find. PM me if you don't come right.

Hey Fork, I just dropped some B.A.T. seal in the tubes when I got it. We take the dogs to a park/field twice a week and no problems. Haven't had a single puncture yet. Hope that helps. I think you can actually get a solid tyre that you can fit on there - wont be as soft a ride but will work.

He said they took it easy on the opener - a little too easy apparently but they will make amends. Eldron like to finish strong so my guess is they will pick it up as they go. They are going cautiously in the beginning - don't want to 'Langvad` it. Guess they will be moving up going past day 4.

I run my dogs there from time to time. Thought I was going to get the boot the first time but Guard`s were gone already. I love running that trail and the dogs never chase the game so I don't see it as an issue for the game. Always wondered when the game would be under threat - access is just too easy off the street. That really stinks.

Any chance the chain is just too long? That would explain the lack of tension thus all the problems? The derailleur can only do so much work but if the chain is too long it will cause havoc.

At that size I would go alli over carbon, 9 or 10 speed over 11 cause he WILL snap it on a climb somewhere. Tallboy is a good call, also look at the Merida range and Turner or Salsa. Wheels - deff something build for punishmentLove the Fulcrums, but also look as other options built for freeriding or even DH? Make sure he gets a proper bike fitment done.

I do concure with the general opinon of Arch + Hope and maybe opt for the steel free wheel body rather than the alluminium option. That being said - if you want a durable wheel take a look at Citec. PM Eldron for those.

Nasty dude. Hectic. Not nice to experience something like that. Go have a cup-o-jo or scotch with someone and mull it over. The contour/relief really lends itself to do something special for mtb rides - Downhill, Enduro ect. Even a small XC course would be great. As said before - the main problem is safety. Ideally - it would be a nice spot for a bike park in Pta - something like ex Logwood or MTN/Toyota MTB park in Jhb. Not sure who would put the needed funds into it - would turn profitable within 3 years I guess. Any venture capitalists out there?

Love it when you find out some Celeb also likes bike riding. I know the Dave Matthews band guys also ride. Anyone else?

Had a big problem with them - would not use them again. They were not interested in fixing the problem - they just did not reply to mails or calls.

Ariane & Annika - after seeing them at Pioneer they can go and spend that winners check so long. Annika is brutal on a bike - Ariane is power but she will just have to hold on to Annika. Barring any serious crashes - I cant see any ladies team getting even close. Probably dressed and pressed - hot off the massage table by the time 2nd team gets in.

They shortened the run after the first half of the field was through last year due to heat. My mate was less than enthused when he came down the mountain seeing the marshals had opened the gate and letting the field through a shortcut - not having to go up the mountain he just had to drag his ass up. The bike hurts you just enough for the run to have its way with you! Proper race for sure!

In there for sure!!! Will have to make amends after missing Rockman due to illness! I do agree on with Grondpad on the run - it is something else!
