  1. I bought one of these this weekend. The flow rate isn't great (45L per minute), so you won't seat a tubeless tyre with it, but that's what I have a compressor for, this is quite lekker for adding air to the bicycle tyres, trailer tyres, etc. I have a few of the 20V Ingco tools, I must say for the price point and the type of use I have for the tools, they are good value for money.
  2. Think you're going to struggle to find what you are looking for locally, especially within your budget. Rapide do a 38mm rise (https://www.rapide.co.za/product/rapide-skyrize-r-780-bars/). This is within your budget, excluding shipping: https://www.jensonusa.com/Spank-Spoon-60-Handlebar-Black-785mm-60mm-Rise-318mm-Clamp
  3. On the dot. 73 is Sheldon Cooper’s favourite number.
  4. Or stopped at 73... Why? 73 is the 21st prime number. Its mirror, 37, is the 12th, and its mirror, 21, is the product of multiplying seven and three ... and in binary, 73 is a palindrome, 1001001, which backwards is 1001001.
  5. I see a red door and I want it painted black....
  6. A drum cover. Beware the rabbit hole that is El Espetario Siberiano's YouTube channel, that's why I posted this on a Friday...
  7. Ja, if I remember correctly, he paid around R2500 for the gear, but when your production is standing still, and the part you need is on a ship, you need to pay. What is incredible to me is how far the 3d printing technology has come. To print the stainless, they lay down a very thin powder layer of the stainless material, then melt/fuse it with a laser, then they add a layer, and fuse it, and so, slowly build it up. Agree though, for a single use tool, it would be too expensive to do this.
  8. There’s a company in Joburg that can 3D print 316 Stainless Steel, I’m pretty sure that will be strong enough. My brother had some gears printed for a machine.
  9. At 7:30 he opens the choke, so must have a carb no?
  10. Hi, good to see your name popping up. I'm not sure I can be considered an "old name", been around here since 2010. Some of the old names have been around again in the last while, @Wyatt Earp (aka Sheriff) posts in the Watch thread from time to time, @DJR and @SwissVan are fairly regular, @Wannabe I think lives in Europe now, but also pops up every now and then, @Cyclewizz also is here every now and again (incidentally it was due to him that I joined, I was looking for rides in the South of Joburg). @'Dale, @droo, @Frosty and @The Ouzo are still regular contributors. I'm sure I've missed some of the "old names" but these are the ones off the top of my head that have been around for some time who I've noticed have been here recently. @divernick is also around but posts as @nick_the_wheelbuilder. Oh, and @Hairy, though he's lost his way, only rides motor cycles these days and posts exclusively in the Motorcycle thread... 🤪
  11. So the tired tyre has been retired?
  12. Just going to leave this here…
  13. If I have to speculate, it most likely has a lot to do with the rate to rent Kyalami. Since it was bought out and upgraded to current standards by Porsche, the rental to use the facilities at Kyalami has become very expensive. Few people are willing to spend 4k for a track day, so you cannot attract the numbers to make the rental viable, so the days just don't happen anymore.

  15. How did they get that wheel into that bike stand? Something looks off... ?
  16. There's a group of guys and a girl who ride Thaba most weekends, either Saturday or Sunday morning, sometimes both. I've been off the bike for a while, so haven't ridden with them for a while, but I'm sure they wouldn't mind if you guys tag along that they can show you around. DM me your contact details, I'll do the introductions...
  17. I was just reading that thread... It is really tough, to give the lighties the right exposure to be able to compete at world level, and to mange the expectations. Very few make it to the level we would like, but without trying, we will never know. My nephew went to Italy some years ago for Karting Worlds, he was #1 in his class in SA, but also only made it to the "best of the rest" races, my brother said the racing and support over there was on a completely other level. Well done to the Little Gnarly though for getting where he is, and to Gnarly for making the sacrifices to help him chase his dream!
  18. How did he do...?
  19. If you can, let her ride both. I had a Trek Fuel EX 9.8 and Currently have a Giant Trance Advanced Pro 1. Similarly specced bikes, but very different ride characteristics. I like to stand up when climbing, the Trek would break traction as soon as I stood up to pedal over something. I had to change my riding style and learn to keep my butt on the saddle. The Giant I can stand up, mash the pedals and I get forward propulsion.
  20. It’s Jay, glad to see he can still pedal a bicycle..: 🤪
  21. If you manage to get that right and have to apply that many Ugga Duggas it may not be hard too do, but you should not be working on a bicycle. I was taught, if you can't turn the first turn by hand, you should not be applying a spanner. Check that you're not cross threading, and try again. I do think though that Droo's explanation is most plausible in this case, the fact that the pedals have not loosened themselves whilst riding, is probably down to too many Ugga Duggas being applied.
  22. Is the rotation direction right on the front tyre?
  23. Where do I find a "how to" to dial in the Jura. We have one at work, the hot liquid that comes out of it tastes like dish water with froth. I'd like to take the time to set it up correctly.
  24. No front brake, how did you do endo's on that...? Oh, yes, I forgot, jam a foot between the front wheel and fork, who needs brakes. Wrecked my Tractor skoens doing endos on my Probike BMX.
