  1. Theres a difference in riding in SA colours(there's lotsa people that have that kit) and riding with a SA champ jersey.
  2. maybe Uran can find some alliance with the young chap that signed for OPQS from AG2R. Remember, Froome only won last year's tour by 2-3min and with all that brave climbing he couldnt put minutes into Nairo. Nairo lost them before the climbs started and on the one stage where he had to go from 11km out.
  3. This first few days already has been brilliant. Saxo loves making it hard in the wind. goat give it to them, they've got a great racing strategy and everyone on their team buys into it.
  4. During Baviaans, after CP5 I couldnt drink or eat anything more, my body couldnt take anything, any sip I took from my bottle came out quicker then it got in and I didnt even try to eat anything. so the last 50km was quite tough. Legs were fine still, after CP6 I was flying down and even vomited a few times while pulling my teammates. Could this be from excessive carbs during the first part of the race? I didnt really eat much, however drank quite a bit due to the hot temps.
  5. Here's my take, On my mtb they were great, I was running them at the recommended OCP which were 2. I had a very aggressive setup on my mtb and the powerstroke were in the sweet spot. On my road bike, same setup, recommended OCP 3, however always felt that the powerstroke were to soon, however I had great acceleration from sitting in the saddle and powered my way across any gap. However climbing and sprinting suffered as I always felt that I was to far forward and that the sweet spot was already over, because now I needed to have power but the chainring were going down to 50 and my pedaling felt "empty" I tried OCP 4 on the road bike and I just couldnt get used to it, on climbs I had to stand a lot to get some power and on flat roads, my knees were coming pass my ears to get some power. I've had my fair share of knee problems over the years, hence my move to qrings and it did what it was suppose to do, take pressure of my knees. I've gone back to round rings because that one day when I'm head to head sprinting for the line, I dont want to think that I need to place my weight over the saddle and not to far forward, because then I wouldnt have that big gear.
  6. I hate the feeling that, it almost feel that you are did something wrong, also raided my washing line over the weekend with cycling clothing, annoys the crap out of me.
  7. Some of these okes should be local pro's by the look of things
  8. Its 18km,15km and a 5km Should mention its XCO - K@k hard
  9. I too struggle a bit on the flats, but can make up time on climbs and can hang on for most of the time on flats. Specificy, train to ride stronger on the flats. Train to ride bigger gears.
  10. Just watched it online. well the last 8km, we are in for a great Vuelta!
  11. I would rather go ralph front and rear. IMO better tyre than the Ron.
  12. Pity Horner is out, another GC rider would've been great for the race.
  13. RIP
  14. I wont be first for long. lotsa MTN riders in Cookiejar
  15. Weather prediction in East London this weekend, 50km/h+ winds, its gonna be good training I guess.
  16. Digital EPO, you load your GXP file on there, add 10% or what ever percentage you like to your said ride, download the ride again as GXP and upload it to Strava and boom, all of a sudden your ride is 10% better. Do that to a few rides and you're in the world cup. Logging miles riding in a car will also attract calories burned. strava calculates its own calories. so no need for a HRM. Someone can also manipulate their weight on strava and or GPS device and this will also increase the calories. So ja, big loophole here. Good luck to the guys not "digital" doping, Dopers always win.
  17. Just Made my pics and now I see Froome had a crash again.
  18. Theres lotsa ways to rig this, but I will be honest and say I will be on my bike, this is a good way of getting some base miles under the belt.
  19. What he said
  20. Spez seattube measure = 52cm, top tube 53.5cm Spez seattube measure = 50cm, top tube 52cm. Make sure before you buy, My Tarmac is one size to beeeeg because the bike shop didnt take into consideration that the toptube was sloping.
  21. Humour definitely left me at CP7, had a small slip on the railway track but nothing serious. Almost went over the side going down MAC, that happens if you look at the line of your partner infront of you and not focusing on your own.
