  1. Agreed. But I still live my Niner to bits.
  2. Another nice feature with these Sparks is the wheel base is relatively short for the 29" design which helps with cornering.
  3. Riding a bike has allot more to do with the geometry of the frame and weight distribution on the bike than the size of the wheels. In other words you feeling confident on your bike and enjoying the ride. If you are looking at 29'ers look at Niner frames. Best geometry in the business in my opinion. Just remember a bad fitment can ruin any bike no matter how expensive or "special". 29" wheels has it's advantages & disadvantages...
  4. Spez Epic Expert 29" OR My 2012 Niner EMD9.
  5. Ikons are seriously amazing, especially in these dry loose sand conditions. Riding Ikons front and back and can't complain.
  6. Good question. Where can one buy Spez Tires?
  7. If it wasn't for a stomach bug I definitely would have joined. Maybe a blessing in disguise.
  8. Also, The places where they are taking the photo's are normal flat sections??? Opposed to C-Sharp where they had strategic points where a decent action photo could be taken. What's the use taking photo's of riders looking down into the ground on a flat section rather than on a fast technical descent from a cool angle.... Just saying.
  9. What happened to C-Sharp? I was ALLOT more happy with the photo's they took last year at the Nissan Series.
  10. Thanks for the reassurance.
  11. Thanks, will take another look at them when I'm at the LBS.
  12. And these bad boys. Have been using Eggbeaters for a long time now. Think its time for a change. Any comments?
  13. Bought myself Specialized Comp MTB shoes today for R1275 including shipping. Retails for R1500 +
  14. Please give some feedback on the grips. Im considering getting some for my longer fingers opposed to my ESI chunky grips...
  15. Haha! Good one Ghost.
  16. Now THAT is how you should think!

  18. Mine is freezing up at Garmin startup screen... JOY Any suggestions?
  19. Not familiar with those specific models. The components mentioned is comparable in performance and value. I would say look at the wheelsets offered on the bikes and also go and ride both bikes to feel the difference in the geometry.
  20. Evening, Brilliant pictures. I would like to talk to you at some stage. I'm quite familiar with the Baviaanskloof region, but would like to go back for a 3rd trip with the bikes and friends. And would possibly like to incorporate some parts of your route/ideas with my own. Keep well. Regards, WJ
  21. Yes. The width of the chains are different. So a 8/9sp chain cant work on a 10sp cassette, but the other way round it probably can.
  22. Just a quick question. Is your marathon seeding results kept apart from your marathon results? IE. You have to ride SAS marathon races to climb the rankings in the seeding for the Marathon races. And a relatively good seeding from doing half marathon races will not help in your marathon seeding. Is this correct?
