  1. Thanks. Well that's the plan, to ride the best places in every province. I will keep in touch with you guys. I will be riding down either on the 24th/25th November.
  2. Correction : "some of the best trails"
  3. Pffft.
  4. Was there last year December camping and riding out on the bike everyday. Such a special place.
  5. http://www.gibagorge.co.za
  6. There's a couple of places one should ride in SA and Giba is one of them, I haven't been to Hola trails only know about them. Yes it's hand made trails but it's such a nice venue and I think it's the most fun I had on my bike in 2012 when I visited earlier the year. Iv'e been to all the best trails in SA and can strongly recommend riding there. The terrain and course is so much different to what we are used to in Gauteng it's truly a fun challenge to go and ride out there and challenge your skills. Would like to see what other venues are close to Amanzimtoti as I'm there for 9 days end of this month. What trails are in Pietermaritzburg? Would maybe try and fit in a ride the day going down to DBN.
  7. Holla trials and Giba Gorge. Easy to find on Google Maps.
  8. So remember not to change a chain before a race but rather on a LSD.
  9. The chain takes about two rides to settle in.
  10. Was wondering when this thread would pop up. Bikeradar's guys tested the Spark 29 RC and even then they changed out the shock and was finally happy with the bike's performance.
  11. In your face!
  12. just sent this thread through to the owner of Summit bikes. He will be with you shortly...
  13. Agree. Summit Bikes has special on AC Race wheels.
  14. Super snaaks.
  15. Awesome race! True mountain biking terrain with just enough flat sections to keep the racing interesting. This was a race where not only fitness plays a role, if you have skill this is the race where it was definitely to your benefit. I also saw those guys taking a detour through the bushes to the right. WHAT IS UP WITH THAT? There was still some relatively serious climbing after that which would have added approximately another 10 mins easily. Was shocked to see fellow MTB'ers doing that in such a special event. Please stay away if that is your mentality. Probably the same people that has road rage and drives like maniacs on the road with no respect to other drivers. Well done to the Advendurance team!
  16. I'm in D for my first 94.7. Started riding road bike this year. So I'm happy.
  17. Awesome idea. Will be great for getting that fire started in Soweto.
  18. Specialized MTB Comp. A bit above your price range, but very good value for money.
  19. Agree. My 29" HT was killing my back at Mankele the weekend. I'm now at a point where a Giant Anthem X 29" sounds like a good option. Half Marathon , Marathon racing = 29" HT Stage Racing = 29" FS
  20. Now that is a good question.
  21. Any idea where we can get our hands on those daily highlights videos?
  22. Aaaagh! Almost on our way...
  23. Agree 100%. Just keep the legs loose and enjoy your under/perfect/over training you did for this race.
