  1. Nou dit is 'n fiets! Sal hom graag wil sien.
  2. Definitely +1 on wet healing method. When I was in casualties, after all the glorious scrubbing and morphine, that was all they used. However they instructed I keep it on for longer, 3-5 days, before replacing. It looks very disgusting, it creates a gel with the moisture from the wound but also keeps the gel separate from your skin inside the patch. One big plus is the fact that its not nearly as sensitive when your clothes rub against it, especially when you have a big roasty on your hip bone. They come in all sizes and would definitely recommend them.
  3. Lyk baie lekker, en is naby.
  4. +1
  5. I really hope you get your bike back Good luck dude!
  6. I have been running a normal foldable crossmark and monorail tire combo tubeless for the past 18months with no issues with +- 3000km on with tire pressure of 25psi(68kg rider weight) I must admit you definitely need to pressure them a bit higher to eliminate burps. The main reason for using normal foldables is it's +-R300 per tire, with a 400- 500 gram total weight saving on the circumference of your tire , irrespective of UST or non-UST, I write off tires in the same time so why pay twice as much for the same tire with added weight. My vote goes for non-UST tires from a weight weenie racing perspective.
  7. Awesome! I am a keen supporter for the CHOC foundation. I will be at Culinan, and will wil try and find you...

  9. It's easy. I think the Reba fork is the best value for performance out there. I you can afford the 2012 Reba RLT / RL go for that one, otherwise the a Recon Gold. Main difference is Dual Air vs. Solo Air, and also the weight.
  10. I have dealt with Summit bikes, Dominic is a decent seller and would be more than happy to help you out. Regarding forks, I know the 2012 Reba fork is something like 50grams heavier than the 29" SID version. The way I understand this is , RS used the same chassis for the REBA and the SID, with only the internals differing in weight and performance. I personally think Fox forks are overpriced, but still would suggest getting what feels the best for you. Also check out Planet X bikes : http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.za/pRAPIDÉ%20PROMOTION%209%20CARBON%2029ER/Rapidé-ProMotion-9-Carbon-29er.aspx You would be able to get a decent deal with a fork, headset , seat clamp and spare hanger. The ZTR Crest wheelset will be perfect for your needs, just don't go and gain 10kg's and do all mountain riding on them. Max weight limit on Crests are 85kg's. The main reason why I didn't go for a complete bike is because there was always something that the manufacturers compromised on that I didn't like, or weren't happy to ride on. Like the wheelset or shifters ect. Now I have my bike and probably the only thing I would like to change is the Aluminium H/bar and Seatpost to Carbon to help take off the edge.
  11. The Momsen SL729 with full 2012 XT group set is estimated to retail at R23,000. Also the 2012 Merida 29ers looks like more value for money than the Momsen, I was told a sub R20,000 price for a carbon bike. I built up my 29er for precisely R21,000. I think building a bike can be a much cheaper option if you are willing to wait for those amazing bargains and buy the components separately. Specs of my Bike : ZTR Crest stock wheel set( Stans 3.30 Hubs) Niner EMD Large frame Full 2012 XT groupset 2X10 2012 RS Reba RLT.( 1,550 grams) Pro headset. I fortunately had a spare seatpost, stem, handlebar and seat that i am more than happy to use. Everything was bought new and was built up by my bike shop for free due to buying most of the components through them. Would also like to mention if I didn't have al those extra spares I would probably have ended up just buying a complete bike.
  12. +1 on what Niner_boy said. In my opinion, the first place to cut on weight would be on the wheel set, especially on a 29er with the added inertia. Regarding weight saving by whizzing 250 grams or saving it on the circumference of your wheelset is two very different concepts regarding efficiency.
  13. It's like he just gets stuck in a wheelie and there's no way he can stop it?
  14. Welkom my ou maat! Hoop jy herstel vinnig, daar is nog baie wat ek jou wil gaan wys.
  15. From Niner's site from Small to X-large. (E) WHEELBASE (80/100) 42.6/42.9" 1082/1088mm 42.8/43.1 1088/1094 43.6/43.9 1107/1114 44.4/44.6 1127/1134
  16. My Niner EMD's wheelbase feels rather short compared to the 26" bikes I have ridden.
  17. LOL!. Ek sal my best probeer.
  18. Looking at their FB page specials will be loaded tonight & tomorrow onto this site, so be patient
  19. Wow! That is super light.
  20. Also would recommend going the eggbeater way. Like everything else, if you can , try before you buy.
  21. ZTR are awesome value for money. There is a 75kg limit on the Crest wheelset. If you want to go the ZTR way, the Arch 29er will be perfect. Also consider American Classics, weight is also in the 1,600g range. WIth no weight limit issues.
  22. Dankie boeta!
  23. I think I'm in love! 2012 2 X 10 XT groupset. 2012 Reba RLT. ZTR Crest stock rims. Coming from a 26" FS Scott I think it's a fair compromise. Very impressed with the Niner Geo, the transition between the two bikes was almost instantaneous. If there is one thing I would change it would be the tires. Going from 2.0 to 2.2 RK's or trying something like a X-king Race King combo, or going the expensive Schwalbe route. But definitely would appreciate a high volume tire. 11kg's without pedals keeping in mind it's a large alu frame I think is pretty impressive.
