  1. First time for me to ride this event. Looking super forward to it
  2. Totally agaree with you, however I bought the FITBIT Charge 3 for me and the wife and it's incredibly comfortable on one's wrist. Bought it for the Momentum Multiply fit days etc
  3. And the starting point is still the BP in Edgemead? Thanks for the quick reply
  4. Is this cycling group still riding on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings starting at 5am ? Thanks
  5. Just 1 Rabbit is going towards to the river
  6. Save up some cash and go to the Rudy Project stand at the Argus Expo Paid R700 for the RED photochromic lenses about 3 years ago Never used another lens for MTB - never had to! Rudy Project Rydon photochromic lenses FTW
  7. On that note: I was able take the box and sit outside and try every lens they had available for my Flak Jackets - really helpful guys that work at Oakley in Obs

  9. If u search the classifieds section here for FS bikes I'd say plus / minus R20k (I ride a Giant Anthem X...really good)
  10. Depends on how old you are Me being closer to 40 and I would say definitely go for a dual-sus...easier on the back
  11. K2C mtb is cold in the morning, but 30 minutes into the cycle and it gets incredibly hot so don't take any food stuffs that will melt. Ideally (and depending on how u carry the food) a good USN bar / the small "Race Food" (5 x small noughat bars in a box) or mix ur fav type of peanut with cranberries (for sweetness) in a jiffy bag and there u go.......
  12. Survey done
  13. I got Specialized ergo grips and did a BG fit (Body Geometry) fit....no more pins n needles
  14. Still my favorite (And I've tried a lot of hydration packs) - I use it with water and then I fill a 750ml bottle with something sweet like Energade / Isotinic Game or something like that and store the botle on the downtube CamelBak Rogue (2L) - 2014 range R 799.0 http://www.capemulti.co.za/CATEGORIES/tabid/5071/CategoryID/53/List/0/catpageindex/9/Level/a/ProductID/176/Default.aspx?SortField=ProductName%2cProductName
  15. I sold my GT 26er HT with upgraded Shimano MT65 wheelset to my buddy who is 130kg He bought and put on a kiddy chair for his 2 year old - Seth TBH I was a bit concerned when he told me that he was cycling just fine with Seth on the back, but that GT with that "Tripple Triangle" geomerty frame holds like non other Very impressed with GT ever since....
  16. Yeah - I second that. I bought 1 of the long sleeve TENN tops and maaaan are they great quality and price to boot http://www.sportsworld.co.za/
  17. Running Maxxis Crossmarks on the rear and Maxxis Ardent on the front, but it seems to me that the Ardents are a "high volume" tyre which makes my 29er feel more difficult to control on the technical stuff going downhill. A mate of mine is running Ardents back and front on his 26er Giant Trance and says that its bascially like a 27.5 now thanks to the Ardents....personal choice I guess.
  18. Sent the wife for a bike setup and the moment she bought a Specialized Phenom she was very happy with it and said it was very comfy
  19. I have a 29er GIANT Anthem x but had the pleasure of taking a S-WORKS Spez Carbon 26er up Meerendal a few weeks ago and I tell u it was awesome. Got back onto my 29er and it started feeling like big ship so I think (and this is only for me personally) that I would now opt for a 27.5 = best of both worlds ?? But like the guys say it really depsnds on YOU and YOUR style of riding. Have fun out there.... Oh I forgot to mension that both bikes were softails (I am 1.75m and I felt too big for the 9er and too small for the 26er - but now I'm just being biast) GIANT works for me matey
  20. Spinning on Tuesday & Thursday mornings and long cycle rides on the weekend - works great
  21. If you dont want to take food with while cycling then just take a SMALL bottle of ENSURE. Be warned as it fills u up like a meal would. I have the choc one and it works great. I still cycle with a botlle of water of course
  22. I bought a GIANT Anthem x 29 from THE CROW and that bike just keeps going with no issues. Love it !
