  1. In hindsight probably not The thing is, we all have our moments of madness and maybe the attacker had one of those days and *just lost it…. Other days he might be a normal person, just like most of your or my friends. *Not condoning his actions
  2. Most admirable indeed But the question was would you split on your buddy for a reward?
  3. But they still need to be a real hands on person, not an email address
  4. Let’s pretend you know the culprit who is a regular riding companion and buddy (no not FABES)…. Would you report him and how much would it cost for you to pull a “Makatini Lunch bar” stunt and ruin the friendship?
  5. It all depends on what sports are involved and what results you want. For general fitness improvement (for example to improve your Argus time) it’s easy to train yourself via many online systems or programs that are easily available with a bit of internet research. Some sports require more than just fitness, for example swimming and mtb which both require good technique, for this you need a hands on coach (one that can see and touch you) who can assess your technique and physical state providing specific and corrective training on a regular basis. A good experienced hands on coach will also assess your results and provide none fitness related tips to further improve, for example tactics…..which are not easily learned from an online program or magazine.
  6. Good idea, money talks 😂 Trick is, assuming they are all skulking away and protecting their tjommie….…how much would it take for someone to split on him?
  7. Thought you might be going past Egypt for COP27
  8. This is what i was thinking, as I'm resident overseas I contacted a few of my SA cycling buddies last week and none of them where aware of the incident until I sent them the link. Although I believe the OP has made use of various social media outlets as well.
  9. let’s hope we can catch the guy who did this
  10. Excellent news, thanks for posting
  11. This bit in bold is so true, blame it on apartheid, cANCer or whatever…. Sadly I doubt the angry macho dick_head will be brought to justice, his word against the victims. karma on the other hand has no such boundaries hope I’m wrong, will love to read that he has been caught, charged and sentenced.
  12. In the case of Thömus bikes, I understand that originally he manufactured his own frames here in der Schweiz. However, after reading this thread and checking out their website I'd agree with Shebeen, their wording is cleverly written to not indicate where the actual frames are manufactured, if the frames where actually produced in Switzerland for sure they would clearly mention that as a selling point. "For 30 years, Thömus has stood for high-tech on the farm – high-quality bikes, developed, designed, built and maintained in Switzerland. To this end, we are always looking for experts and talents who are just as crazy about cycling as we are. Their website currently advertises a position in Asia: High-tech bikes, developed, designed and built in Switzerland: this is what Thömus has stood for since 1991. Competent, friendly and courteous customer service as well as first-class products are our success factors. No matter what we do, we do it "for the love of the bike". Does this also apply to you? Then you may soon be our Head of Asia in Product Management. But then again... that could also cover the materials added to the frames, groupsets etc......
  13. IMHO it’s a case of over saturation, to much on the menu…. You guys in SA are spoilt with the amount of events on your calendar, the bubble has burst perhaps?
  14. No end to the marketing genius of the big bicycle manufactures
  15. S’true but I have to wonder why it took the marketing department so long to come out with gravel bikes. I mean gravel roads and other similar roadie none technical riding have been around ever since boetie built the bloedrivier monument near Dundee. The big boom will most likely be gravel e bikes 🙄 heaven’s knows why, but that’s the way of the scheeple world 🤟
  16. How to avoid being detected by russian radar https://www.blick.ch/ausland/spektakulaeres-manoever-kampf-helikopter-fliegt-wenige-meter-ueber-boden-id17986449.html
  17. Where there’s smoke Even if they are below the minimal limits, where did they come from? The steaks are really small in Switzerland
  18. I’ll second this i have time atac pedals on all my bikes (including my road and tri bike). They are like Toyotas, just keep on going….. Bought some shimano XT pedals about a year or 2 ago, not sure what I was thinking…. They are still in the box. i have noticed that the atacs are not stocked in the bike shops here in chocolate and fondue land, the last time I bought some I had to order them online.
  19. Whoever designed Team GB's cycling shorts needs to visit Spec savers 👓
  20. Great YouTube channel you guys have there! You guys down in the Cape sure have some great trails #veryenvious
  21. And the same applies to Ganna’s beard in 2022 Spending thousands of euros on skin suits, aero helmet, bikes etc etc…. But cannot afford to shave his face. Maybe there is truth to the belief that cyclist shave their legs because they think it looks sexy….or maybe he will shave his mug for his next attempt never say never
