  1. I still have hub tor de France competition cycling shirt that I won somehow, with my hub name over the back of the shirt But do you have a hub cycling shirt with your hub name on it🤘
  2. Ja nee…. It’s been fun Question to Nick and Matt, who is the longest serving member that is still active on the hub today?
  3. What is this mtb training rides on the road, is that even allowed? Next thing folks will be putting slick tyres on their mtbks 🤪
  4. Apparently Saturday was the last of the summer weather for us here in Europe land, here’s a picture or 2 to document it
  5. Fixed 😜
  6. I agree 100% Problem is there are so many copies, fakes, you name it out there that we just accept it. Wearing a world champion copy shirt is nothing like wearing a team or country shirt… people can align themselves and support a team or country, but not just the stripes on their own. The white and WC stripes do look nice even if you don’t know the meaning so I can see why some mamil’s are attracted to it
  7. Up past the local air defence missile base, welcome to neutral Switzerland
  8. TBH based on his recent XCO I was surprised that TP did not win. Fantastic race by AH, I liked the way he did not give TP the chance to get on his wheel. Missed the last 2 laps due to a major storm interference with my Eurosport reception. Also a great race by Candice, think maybe the hills were just to short for her. They both flew the flag like stars, hope that they receive the recognition back home
  9. Great day for riding yesterday, 30 Deg C and did a route that I have not done for many years, not sure why as it is ideal for cycling with little traffic and mostly with cycling paths.
  10. I have a Morewood ZULA frame parts list somewhere in my filing system…. Not sure if the bearing you are looking for is the same on the Zula
  11. Has anyone tried Maurten gels? Not sure if they are available in SA. Ive recently bought a pack of the gels with caffeine and quite like them, they are not exactly a gel in the true sense, kind of between gel and solid and don’t taste overly sweet. They do seem to work as I felt wide awake the day I took one whereas I would normally feel quite tired after a hard session. https://www.maurten.com/de/innovation
  12. Public holiday and a wonderful summer day here in planet Zug
  13. Wot about Vroomie (serious question) he needs a GT swan song
  14. Good point, generally aero does not equate to light especially on standard production bottom of the range models. People are obsessed by weight on a bike, yet neglect how many kg’s they can save on a bike compared to their own weight, water bottles, tools, equipment (like cycling shoes)….
  15. It’s not just about the bike there are probably more people who use a bike just for transport and couldn’t care about aero stuff
  16. It’s like a Spy vs Spy cartoon Except it’s people vs people, or as all we people’s are at some stage poephols poephol vs poephol While we don’t have the taxi problem here, my biggest pain in the butt while out cycling is pedestrians (poepholmajor) be it on off road trails or the roads when going through towns or villages, these poepholmajors just cross the road or walk into the road without looking as they know the law protects them and expects other road users (poepholminor) to anticipate the poeholmajors erratic behavior. Note to admin / mods: please don’t be a p o e p h o l and delete the p o e p h o l text or this post. Poephol signing off šŸ˜
  17. Last weeks ride up the Zugerberg
  18. And I bet you every one of those men has a moustache, have you noticed how the Ozzie men love their moustaches…..
  19. I don’t know the area at all Is there no safer alternate road for cyclists to use other than this one, my first impression from your pictures is that it’s not an ideal location for cycling. Im not condoning the motorists BA but sometimes for your own safety you should avoid some roads when they are busy.
  20. Considering they already trialed a duathlon at the test event in 2023 it means they expected it, it’s fBarking ridiculous….instead of choosing a more suitable swim venue. Imagine all the swim training athletes put in and it could amount to nothing and potentially change the podium due to favoring the better runners with a 5/40/10 format
  21. What a FrAnRCE Surely they could find a reasonably clean stretch of water somewhere in Paris…. the Seine should never have been considered in the first place
  22. The crowds medal (and yours) is in the post
  23. Just watched a recording of the men’s xco, I take back what I said about the track TP, AH, VK and company brought it to LIFE, simply fantastic
  24. TBH watching from the comfort of my couch I found the race somewhat boring, managing to fall asleep to wake up and see poor Lecompte lying face down…..and then waiting in vain for a replay to see what happened or to hear from the commentators if she was ok tbh I’m not sure if it was the track or the commentators/ tv coverage fault that I found it boring
  25. Just wondering…….Are there any cycling SA ā€œteam officials / managersā€ going to the world champs who are not going to be actually riding? If so, who pays for them….. I recall many years ago at an age groupers world champs in Canada where they asked one of the more senior riders (who was paying his own way ) to be the team manager. If memory serves me correctly SA cycling paid the race entry fee for each rider (XCO and DH), the participants paid for everything else.
