  1. guessing he has a Cycplus.
  2. https://www.dailymaverick.co.za/article/2025-09-01-nic-dlamini-puts-brake-on-competitive-cycling-to-give-back/ He could still make a comeback...
  3. seems like it will be awesome, hope there are some tourists coming from RSA
  4. i'm amazed to see this is running off a bogstandard gmail account. I have no probs with gmail the system, but paying R200 a month and it doesn't look like you just started yesterday.
  5. It comes with pedals AND reflectors! never heard of shimano etf-2100 or whatever the groupset is, but it is 7 speed. without looking at it in person, the feeling is that it will be cheap and nasty. you can do better
  6. no no. He was just getting back to a decent level, being out of contract this year meant he was going to be on the shopping list for many teams looking to take down Tadej at next years tour. devastated
  7. https://modernadventure.com/who-we-are/ nice hat. looks like they might make it to some wine farms.
  8. who is the owner? his celebrity status hasn't reached me yet
  9. Canyon logo on the finish arch...maybe he was on a bike?!
  10. awesome. i only had SRAM/Avid until recently, so never did this. shot shot.
  11. no comments on it until being cancelled, maybe the demand just wasn't there.
  12. That was my sarcasm not coming through then, happy to hear more about the outstanding performance of CSA as a federation.
  13. noted, that thought did cross my mind!! BUT being able to diagnose and fix something that is not actually broken is more rewarding than throwing a credit card.
  14. https://modernathlete.co.za/2025/08/totalsports-two-oceans-marathon-passing-the-baton-to-stillwater-sports/ Rational move, time to let the adults drive the vehicle. big question is can they get entries at capacity in 2026. Race date 11/12 april is about six weeks before CT marathon which people are gogga eyes all over.

    Cape Epic 2026

The issues of Paarl rock were all avoidable if there was a viable plan B or C. but you do raise a good point, there was talk of civil action - went quiet. good point. They would need to cancel the final race village accommodation. You just stay night 6 in your own hotel somewhere in SWest.
  16. ja I tried that initially, but trying to work out the way to push it when you don't have the right adaptor to create a bit of pressure. I basically had just the syringe pipe pushed into the caliper bleed port. Obviously the park tool guideline (on a newer model) the guy has all the different nifty bits. I guess my question is, how would you do this in the bundus? I'm unlikely to go find the exact adaptor needed - unless this sort of thing is easy enough to find. https://www.rookiesports.co.za/product/fluir-workshop-universal-bicycle-hydraulic-disc-brake-bleed-kit/
  17. not fully off topic: found an item on an online cycling store with the following codes at the end of the description: RRP: R479 RS: R239 TAL: R349 TAL Low: R269 (lowest possible) actual price is R279.00 R199.00 is this the internal accounting, if so, good price i guess?!
  18. pics are these irritating heic format
  19. wrenching the gardene executives ride yesterday. he has a new (old) chariot, a schwinn mesa with promax hyrdaulic brakes. Front has sooo much air in it that it just don't work. (either that or pistons are seized). I have bleed kits for sram+ shimano, but this is something else. I have found online guides for later models from this brand, but this is very basic. no bleed port on levers, only the main reservoir which has two screws and a rubber flexible gasket. Trying to get air out, I flipped everything so lever is bottom, caliper highest and just tried filling up from top. (i was able to get some sort of vacuum seal) suggestions welcome - he is back next sunday (assuming he can navigate the roads with back brakes only for another week!) 20250824_124127.heic20250824_124135.heic
  20. When a company gets liquidated, the baby does figuratively get thrown out with the bathwater. (also no affiliated). It would be sad if this is the case, but happy to be reminded that this all started when the people of Cape town voted with their wallets that SteveH is a complete #%#%$#%$#%. Well done CapeTown.
  21. i think you can get all the info quicker by this online handbag fight. It's a facebook post, but listed as a press release: https://www.facebook.com/murray.lubbe/posts/pfbid02iqcVV7t9SR6thg3tDbHhCfh2jKCqieN7osaM8PJKrLLi2yB8gEgsJq5jNCYLGnoml Did a quick check on cipc, there is no "Top tickets" or "Cool Concerts", so maybe there really is only one company (de villiers cycling) which was registered in 2011. Would explain why they all go through here - https://www.toptickets.co.za/ Your entry fees, and these events are at risk. If the cycling is a sustainable profitable business then he should spin them out, asap.
  22. I'm a bit scared to go down this rabbithole, but this is all to do with Steve Hofmeyr? How is that knobjockey not grifting his white ass off into millions currently? He is basically an Afrikaans Donald Trump. As the posterboy for white victimhood, how did he miss this massive opportunity? seems my news24 account doesn't get me netwerk24 access, but i did find this quickly so my takeaway here De villiers has a music promotions business/sidehustle. And with a postponed concert from march he is now trying a V2.0? You can still buy tickets here - https://www.toptickets.co.za/event-details/steve-hofmeyr-ikoon-konsert-kaap-dhl-stadion (they have a gmail address for the concert) The cycling thing might be a totally separate vehicle, so this could go belly up and Tour du Cap et al are fine (which is even more DJT immoral behaviour)
  23. AH wins SA sportsman of the year. https://www.facebook.com/supersport/videos/2241016489673509 CSA were finalists for Federation of the year, guessing that is mostly due to the stellar results from AH and Candice - but happy to be wrong.
  24. How much do you want to pay for this?
  25. another incident on CT roads last weekend. details sketchy but funeral service is today.
