  3. awesome
  4. dunno how you hop like that... i mean i can hop a park bench or sumting like a metre high tops, with momentum, but to do it continuously like that... DAMN!
  5. my dj bike has std QR's... works fine but i dont back flip and am a smooth rider 20mm def stiffen up the front end though- my mates bike feels so much better than mine (but a morewood will always feel better no matter what haahaa) oh and tubes.. cos UST too damn expensive to case on jumps! QUESTION: i use a piece of old tube on my bb/cranks to stop the cranks revolving when my legs are elsewhere, but how the heck do i stop the damn pedals from spinning? I used to tighten the axles on the cheapies so they dont rotate, but with the new fancy sealed bearing pedals i cant do that anymore. Anyone got some DIY suggestions??? or maybe i should just go back to the cheapies..... hmmm
  6. dude i just checked out that site... OMG! just started writing a christmas wishlist LOL My better half is gona kill me O_O
  7. Just to close this off and put peoples minds at rest... Im not racist. it was a description. wasnt a great description and im sorry. next time...better ;-) I followed the guy numerous times. Dealt with cops and all. Anyone that said the police dont really care... well they are right at the same time as being wrong. there are thousands of reports for stolen bikes so they just dont have the time to sift through them all. and one officer told me most of the time people claim through insurance and are not worried what happens further (they just need to make a case at police station for insurance purposes. ok so now thats said... the bike was stolen i confronted the guy at a cafe in strand... he bought it for 300 bucks off another guy... long story cut short... i managed to track that guy down and he is the guy that stole it...its like a sydicate or something. But what i can tell you is that the silver trek was definitely carbon. It wasnt stolen by the guy i saw riding it (he paid 300 for it). as for the guy that originally stole it which i managed to track down... well the cops are sorting that one the last time i checked. the reason i went through such a mission in this case is ive had bikes stolen before and wanted to see where the trail ends...
  8. lol @ bar ends i can remember those purple anodised ones that really looked like bull horns! think at one stage frenchies were selling ano blue as well... HARDCORE! love the comment on tree hugging LOL
  9. will let you know if they approve me for credit card muhahahaha
  10. whats the common duties that would have to paid when buying from CRC? do you just add VAT when collecting at customs in cpt or is there duties and all sorts of stuff aswell? Cos im thinking if i order some super bling stuff for my bike its really cheap from CRC, but if i have to add 20% and then still add VAT (had to do this once when ordering a car part from states) then it becomes really pricey (oh ya and add shipping) O_O im not trying to be cheap or anything but the stuff available online is soo way cooler than local, thats the only reason i want to order online. so whats the verdict?
  11. Yo All the DJers that ride mtbs... I recently ploughed and claimed some ground at Bel Air, and now need some new bars. Ive been looking at loads of options and cant make up my mind. So yea what bars do you ride and how do you find them? whats the rise and width that you ride? ive been looking at some of these:- Azonic Strip Bar gusset open prison bars think these are hot as well... http://www.deitycomponentsstore.com/handlebars.html so yea lets get some feed back if anyone has ridden any of these bars or maybe you got a better suggestion. Dont mind , just dont want em fookin bending...
  12. nah man, he was there on his own. when he left he left going up to the houses so guess he lives somewhere up on the hill. I live around the corner and havnt seen the kid before... will see if he comes back. :/
  13. hope people acknowledge this type of general rule wherever they go. jumped onto this thread now just to make people aware that when an oke is in mid flight, having just launched at lank speed.... he cant move out the way. I feel lank bad but this past weekend i was out practicing jumping and i connected a 12 year old... Feel lank bad bout it, but i was already mid air coming in for landing when i saw the kid cycle across the down ramp...there was nothing i could do and hit him square on. Kid got such a shock and fell quite hard. I went over the bars and bla bla bla. (im used to falling off so wasnt big deal.) but kid wouldnt stop crying for bout ten minutes. and the fact that he was messing round there on his own was a little worrying but yeah anyway he was ok and his bike was fine. BUT it could have been much worse. Ive ridden dh many times (intermediate level) but i do know that when you get one of the serious okes flying down there, when and if they hit someone its going to inflict major pain. so yea sorry if that was anyones 12 yo this weekend... only managed to get his age and name was Tim but hes fine....my front wheel is wasted though and i broke front tooth...oh and my bars arnt so pretty anymore Oh yeah these jumps are in Somerset West! the big ones next to Bel Air. if anyone takes their kids there please tell them to look before they just just cruise around...
  14. justus...going huge! O_o
  15. because i wanted to rant and rave
  16. LOL! thanks for the replies - funny and all ;-) ok so im going to avoid being arrested and will do the photo thing... thanks. but will definitely stop him and ask some questions. then take the photo's ;-) have a lekker weekend!
  17. hey guys and gals this morning i just saw a guy cycle past my work place in strand, on a bike that cant possibly be his. Im not being racialistic or anything but i just dont see how he could afford such a nice TREK road bike. The bike was a silver TREK road bike, one of those awesome monocque treks.(sure that its carbon) i spotted it instantly, definitely not a bike you see everyday if you know what i mean? especially with a black worker in scrappy jeans and t-shirt riding it. it looked in great condition, cycle computer and all...from what i could spot in about 5 seconds as they guy cycled past. Now the thing is i mentioned it to my boss and funny enough he said he saw the guy running down the road with it yesterday! So if someone has lost a silver TREK roadbike, pretty damn sure its carbon, then let me know. cos if i see the guy again, im gonna take the bike off him. So please ask your buddies in the STRAND, SOMERSET WEST, GORDONS BAY AREA if they are missing a nice shiny silver TREK roadbike??? Im pretty sick and tired of my bikes getting stolen so the next time i see this oke im going to get that bike. and then i would like to return it to the poor oke?woman that lost his pride and joy. But the thing is i first want to check if someone didnt give it to him? LOL dont know how thats possible!! So what do you all think? i have no fear so will rip this oke off the bike in a second... should i or shouldnt I??? if its your bike then let me know! Ill keep yall posted if I see it again?get it. thanks!
  18. lekker ou tye
  19. practiced loads before my first ride, but... a while back was wheeling down main road, looped it, somehow managed to unclip, landed on my feet and was like a skier, skiing on my shoes for like 3 metres before i stopped. was scary. 2nd: pinned a lovely manual at local dh course, looped it, bailed. next three riders behind me tried to miss me. luckily only had one tyre mark on my back. ha ha EPIC FAIL ;-) noob
  20. google is your friend. also look at the classifieds on this site!
  21. apparently illegal to cycle on n2?
  22. i had the 328... serviced many things myself. just took it down to local service oke to do the computer programming and fuel mix ratios every 10000km just to check evrything was ok with its "brain". luckily i never had to do the clutch...apparently that took my mate the entire weekend to do on his 328.lol.(drifting is fun, right?) its really not that hard to change brake pads though....seriously.
  23. ive bent plenty bars but never snapped one. must be a very scary moment(s)...
