  1. I reckon she is selling her hubby's stuff to get back at him
  2. Yes, that the spot!
  3. Many thanks, V12man, I'll give it a shot!
  4. Hi I have excruciating pain when I kneel, just below the surface of the skin. It feels like nerve pain and it shoots to the side of my knee. It feels like glass cutting. The minute I get up and take the pressure off I am totally pain free again.I can replicate this pain by pressing on the tendon at the "hot spot". I first experienced this a few days after Amashova, so I thought it might have been an overuse injury, so I thought it would settle but it has not. I can ride and walk totally pain free, but after long rides it is somewhat tender. I saw my physio - she told me not to kneel, but I don't want to accept that. I have tried icing it, to no avail. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice would be appreciated.
  5. Shocking news. I wish her a full and a speedy recovery. I just hope the justice system does not fail her.
  6. Why not upload your workouts and then delete them all from Polar Pro Trainer?
  7. So I am alone in N then? Ah, well what the hell i shall aim for a sub 4 all on my own.
  8. Sjoe, you must be gutted; i feel for you. It emphasises that we just cannot be too careful when transacting. The bad news is that no insurer will pay out for losses of this nature, which arise out of fraud not theft. Maybe take pics of the bike to all the lbs's in your area, and ask them to keep a lookout.
  9. Wow, I read a lot of the blog on the weekend. Fascinating to see how how Dr Robert Lustig was totally and utterly decimated. I am embarrassed to say that I was so taken by his lecture until I read this blog. Mr Alan Aragon 1, Dr Robert Lustig 0. I really had to laugh when Lustig sought to restore his credibility by citing the number of Youtube hits he has. This is what science has been reduced to? This blog is a must read!
  10. You forgot about the toilet issue. How do you expect us to *** ourselves before and after?
  11. You need a full sus. No brainer.
  12. Awesome, I hope you break the record. Best of luck - keep us posted!

    Amashova 2013

Amazing. I ate nothing save for one bananna at the first water point. But was carbed to the gills with Hammer Perpetuem in one bottle, and water in the other. The stuff is da bomb, and all natural. Allegedly.

Fantastic achievement, well done. I am interested to know if you rode "carb free".
  15. They are riding in the emergency lane, not blocking traffic. Wtf?

    Amashova 2013

It was amazing ride, with lekker cool weather, and good mates to ride with and chat to the whole way. Some stunning scenery up botha!s and a great atmosphere made this a great day out for me. I really enjoyed it - glad i made the trip , and will definitely be back next year. the race was Organized like clockwork. Today was the very epitome of all that grabs me about cycling. Ps: i cannot agree with the comments which assert that the Amashova is harder than the 94.7 . The contrary is true- even with today's wind factored in, I still think that the Shova is nowhere near as tough as the 94, which is ridden at altitude and has tough climbs near the the end, when the sufferfest is at optimum agonizing cadence

I'm in the Buddy Batch - group BB - with my 6 mates. I will be wearing CHOC bibs with a white top branded "Team H" , with all our company logos. Riding a white Basso, with matching Basso helmet.

Very fast. If you're still together in the last 5 prepare for a long sprint.
  20. Look, I don't wanna argue with you. I was just trying to be honest about something which I see everyone doing. That said, the scenario which you paint is faux. And emotive. And sanctimonious.
  21. ***, now I'm in ***.
  22. its safe to through a red light if you treat it as stop street. i e : you stop, check carefully that there are no oncoming cars, and proceed if there are none. I agree with you, however, on the reputational damage which this causes to us as cyclists.
  23. I confess to going thru many of the red lights (including on today's ride in all the areas you mentioned) - in fact, we go thru all the red lights but the ones on the big intersections where it is not do-able to safely skip them. For a while after Burry's death, I tried to be good about it, but old habits have crept back in. The same goes for my bunch of riding mates. I have taken note, however, of this thread and shall try and remedy my ways, but I don't think its gonna be easy. The temptation to go when we know its safe to do so, just seems to be too much to resist when on a bicycle. When riding on my own, I also feel that I am a target for bike jacking stopped at a red robot, so I just don't see myself even trying to change my ways on solo rides. Ps. I just failed Big H's colour blindness test!
  24. Actually, I have not tried the Vivalto in a while. My favourite is the Indriya. I tried the Kazaar in the shop on Sunday, and will definitely be buying a few tubes!
  25. Interesting, but I don't see how a Nespresso machine handles the volume of a coffee shop. Also don't see how its good business. I have had my Nespresso for about 6 or 7 months in which time I have spent more on the pods than I did on the machine, and I am the only once drinking the stuff aside from the wife who has the odd decafinato once in a while. So, the Pod bill in a commercial set up, no matter how small, must be hectic.
