I heard the tandem riders at Lost City say that they were the only ladies tandem on the day. Normally the organisers want a minimum of 5 tandems in a category to compete to contend for prize money. You can't hold these girls ransom because other ladies tandem don't want to enter, but ladies tandem racing is only starting to grow now. I am sure organisers are trying their best to cover all angles.

Just glad to see it's all a bunch of lies.(from what I understand from HP's translation.) Surely Soler had to undergo blood testing during the tour? (being in the constant top 10-15 in the GC.) If there was any chance that he tested positive, he would've been gone a long time ago.

So if the membership fee is per year, do we enjoy the benefits of affiliation untill next year July, or do we have to do this all over again in Jan 2008?

ChrisH: Well spotted! KonaFan: I think Muldersdrift is still Gauteng. We cycle that route on a regular basis. I think cyclists are the majority users (compared to motorists) of that road on a sunday. Perhaps that's why some cyclists feel they have the road to themselves. But everytime a car approached, we single filed and moved over to the left. I bought leather straps 9 years ago at Westdene cycles. (alfredo Binda or something like that). They still do the trick.

I think once the elastic part in the material goes, no one can fix it and a new pair of shorts will have to do. Or you can wear it like that and start a new trend!

Seeing that you know about the Babbas race: Do they take line entries? I wanted to enter online yesterday, but there was only one rider entered for the long distance. Not a bad thing though. Finishing last means you also got 2nd place....

Now the right thing for me to say is: hope to meet up with you guys soon to ride with. But the way you talk, we'd have to do a couple more rides on our own! But it would be fun to join up with you lot for a ride some time. After a disaster Fountains race (which happened to be a provincial')last year Sept. I left the mtb in the garage, as I was demoralized. But riding last week at NF made it fun again.

You must have been the riders coming down the hill while we were battling up. You were flying. How big was your group? 5?

Pls give a bit more info on NF. We've been there only for races a year or two back, but how does sunday rides work? Is it a club's HQ? Entry? Are routes available for a +-2hr intermediate ride. I need to start somewhere with mtb training: we want to ride Mabalingwe for the 1st time this year. ( thoughts on this race?)

Not likely. The residents say the roads dept upgrade will stretch over a longer period than that. Organisers say a shuttle service will be available for riders from B'ton back to Nelspruit. As long as you book in advance.

Please keep us posted on your plans for training after sunday's ride. Would love to join you. I'm riding the Wilro100 is sunday, but the week after is good. Would like if we could get something going during the week as well. Need some training for the Jock.

Maybe the trouble started with the Elites finishing the race much faster than anticipated. I must agree with you. That lady rider had just as much right being on the route as them. Why are the Elites still racing 100/116km races anyway? Organisers should let them race proper distances. >150km
