  1. Not hijacking' date=' only a smash and grab. The guys cell was stolen and, after chasing the "smasher", he shot him. Maybe a bit of an overkill? As for the bikejacking, eish, good luck guys! But I would stay away from London Rd. Not the safest road in GP as it runs RIGHT up against Alex.[/quote'] thanks ewep, only listend with half an ear. maybe a bit of an overkill. people feeling that the powers that be are not doing what they suppose to, to protect the law abiding citizens and then taking the law into their own hands. something, i think, we are going to see more and more of. again that movie of Jodie Forster - The Brave One - comes to mind.
  2. and beware if you want to defend yourself. heard over the radio this morning.... police - in jhb area - are looking for a motorist that shot and killed a would be hijacker over the weekend... the motorist are wanting for murder. ....
  3. that's not gonna do your cause much good! and what cause would that be? to find love and loving in the modern world. a contradiction in terms. and i thought you were - that's right - were a sucker for a soppy story? ... and then i got wise ....

  5. yeah, yeah, whatever.
  6. also doing it for the first time. and they tell me it is a lllloooootttt of fun. i just can't wait. got a few tips here and there already.... get some "ice man" (dischem) to rub your legs after the day's ride. drink a recovery drink - some thing like ignite from engery dynamics. get rehidrite to put back all the electrolytes - otherwise you'll struggle with some cramps. go straight to bed after you had a nice shower. wake up dinner time, go have something to eat and then go back to bed, or something like that. have your bike serviced before you do your last training ride. have a 27/12 fitted to help with all those climbes. amateure and i are planning to take it very easy. the aim is the finish before the 8hour cut off.

  20. the start was a disaster, the waterpoints were nothing to write home about, the route was by no means flat and i almost got taken out by a 1st class idiot in a audi! BUT...... the hubber's company and the support in the form of Chilli Pepper, Firefly, Sonic and Gary the driver/photographer, were excellent!!! they were smiling when handed clothing, at the right time ready with ice cold water and cola and when need the most a word of encouragement. thanks guys - you rock!!! and to the rest of the guys riding: thank you for the chats here and there the odd joke or two and making it a most enjoyable 6 and a half hours in the saddle. special thanks to pocketbikes for making your vito available to all of us. and thank you to ox wagen who pulled me the last 20 km when the legs started really getting heavy and wanted to quit on me. wolfie, at one stage i kept going, because you kept going. hubbers, i'm proud to be counted as one of you! amateur - next the panorama!! can't waint.
