    Cricket......

Nice analysis and quite right, I had a brain fart not counting SA/NZ as a semi.

    Cricket......

Was the World Cup any good as a spectacle? Apart from SA's close games vs NZ and Sri Lanka; England getting beat by Bangladesh and NZ over-achieving for a while - was there a lot to get excited about? Seemed like no-contest in 3 of the quarters, both semis and the final - and a helluva long time to get to the end of the whole thing?

    Cricket......

The rest of the world is what matters if you care about the tag at all - fair or unfair. I would say the comedy collision to miss the catch and the phantom stumping don't help the Proteas' cause, as well as not defending 12 off the last over. but it's only a game and it's a shame for ABdV for sure as he really is a worldbeater and seems like a great oke too.

I doubt it - This one from the Guardian: "South Africa suffer more World Cup heartache after failing to ditch ‘chokers’ tag" Of course, England's cricket team never gets into a position in the first place where they can choke!
  7. Looking forward to seeing the on-line version.
  8. It wont be congested when they clear off all the people who couldn't go 18kmh.
  9. Cheer up it could get worse.....imagine not getting a sub-3 on Sunday!!!
  10. He's over-compensating for something(s) with that cigar.
  11. My friend, who is a female vicar in Dibley the South of England, thought it was spiffing.
  12. Hope these werent mentioned before - The Byrds version of Mr Tambourine Man was better than Bob Dylan's; Sinead O' Connor Nothing Compares 2 U; better than Prince's; Elvis Presley's Hound Dog better than Big Mama Thornton's (so i'm told).
  13. Big congratulations to all who got through TB one way or another, great to ride it. My training and team came unstuck in June, but seeing as i'm writing this from Abujah - it wasnt going to happen for me this year.
  14. I'm sure Momsen do their homework as to what will best move their product - pink is divisive amongst women riders, but there must be enough who want it to make it worth their while to push the colour. Lots of good alternatives being suggested from what i can see.
  15. Pardon my ignorance but what does the glitter do?

    Lost city 2014

Stayed a few times at the Rundown Ranch and the most noticeable thing is the twins who used to be duty managers looked like The Proclaimers. It's fine, if a bit tired, and full of cyclists over that weekend, so I hope you have a good time.
  17. you never know
  18. Pictures, or it didn't happen!
  19. I hate myself for getting involved but young Bradley is not being entirely honest in starting this thread, which is a follow-on from the retro bikes thread. You want today at 15:55. http://www.thehubsa..../page__st__2448 Morph didn't react badly to him asking stupid questions, but it was the strangest appearance of a Hubber in my seven or eight years here.
  20. OP is in the right but maybe doing laps is annoying esp if you dont live there. Academic now as lines are drawn it will be interesting to see what the municipality says; keeping booms means keeping access open.
  21. I like Daryl, chances are he doped, it doesnt make me feel worse about him, he'll have to deal with it. Just glad Robbie Hunter got through to the end without a problem.
  22. I'm @ Exclusive Books sale, them and Woolworths are my two favourites - there's no messing about.
  23. You're a bit one-dimensional in your approach. Doesn't make for an interesting conversation, unfortunately.
  24. ABCO - you're right that we're responsible for what we spend; but look at the threads on Cajees where they make us work for the price. Customers feel they can ask to be looked after better than that. There's got to be a market advantage for business dealing in a transparent way with customers. E.g. I wont give any time to a site / shop selling airline tickets giving the price before taxes. Uk supermarket deals are really confusing buying multiple items and multiples of one item, and you end up going for a '8 for the price of 9' offer. Pick and Pay often has it that the smaller packet is less per kg than the bigger one - its a ballsache.
  25. Its very hard to police this sort of thing. In the UK the law is that you have to state where and when the product was sold at the higher price, and it has to be for at least a month before the sale. With something like clothing its just about impossble to track. What I have seen is cheap branded stuff coming out only at sale time that is poorer quality than the usual - Polo in Stuttafords seems to do this regularly.
