  1. I'm looking at the flight booster option at the moment as I'm wanting to travel in June. I just don't think I'll have six weeks from the time I buy the tickets until I fly
  2. when the user of that play mat in the background turns 18 and moves out of the house, then maybe you will afford a new set of wheels:)

    Tattoos

tattoo of an indoor trainer..... both in one go
  4. cool. I was being cautious with the shin splints. If you're wanting to improve your time and the shin splints don't act up then go for it. But if the aim is to just finish then I wouldn't risk it.
  5. if you're aiming for 21km in the Durban 70.3 then I wouldn't push the training up. I'd keep it low and comfortable and protect the legs. You don't have to do 21km beforehand. But that's my view
  6. I'm keen I'm thinking of aiming to do the robben island double at the end of this year so any training motivation will be good. I have emailed the organisers as well for information on getting my name down again
  7. if you do consider doing the 16 mile next year please let me know. Having motivation and trying to match someone else's training could be great motivation for me anyway.
  8. This is probably easier to say than actually do. You'll probably have to learn to say no to your kid. Maybe chat to your kids and explain that you simply can't afford it. Eventually they'll understand as well and no just hate you for saying no
  9. was just going to post the same message. go schoeman
  10. think it depends on how well you want to do in the 21km. I did a 21km in 2h14 a few years ago and don't think I did more than 15km a week if not less.
  11. That's a lot of running
  12. we've decided to have a bring and braai for our daughters 4th birthday this month. Will organise some party stuff for the kids and then the adults can braai. Think it's a good way to go.
  13. it's pretty safe but I wouldn't swim alone. Search FB for the "sunday hot chocolate group" They swim camps bay every sunday and very social and helpful. Search FB for "3soms" for the Clifton group. For bigbay and small bay I can't get you added to a watsapp group where you can find out what is happening
  14. seriously jhb, please stop hogging all the rain, we want some here in CT
  15. what type of training do you want? ocean or pool. if you want ocean then bigbay and small bay are always good. Then there's silvermine dam, camps bay tidal pool, camps bay and clifton beaches
  16. where's the finished product pic?

    Who remembers?

who remembers a time when you could go cycling on your own in the middle of nowhere and feel perfectly safe.... sadly those days seem a distance memory and who remembers when you could go cycling and not be stopped by traffic lights for ages

  20. There's a thread about what causes heart attacks in cyclists. Riding when you're feeling as bad as you did 3wings is one of those causes.......
