  1. Maybe not tips but I normally do the Zebra (30km) first and on the second lap do the Impala (20km) which gives you the same distance as the Buffel.  Has a nice climb in the beginning, RockstoCrocs, Okkies climband the supertube at the end.  Find it a much nicer combination and just as challenging as the Buffel...but all rideable.

  2. 26 players, that's like a whole team sky busload of soigneurs!

    NOOOOOOOOOO!

I had inked the deal already.

I'm going to have to parachute the mystery lucky draw into the first prize now:

    1st prize - MOREWOOD experience:

    *full factory tour

*get to test ride the new prototypes

*hang out with the MOREWOOD race team riders

I guess I have to aim for the Giro del Capo now .......  :P

  3. We are up to 14 players, kicks off this WEEKEND  baby.

The team behind the scenes have been able to put some amazing prizes for this year's edition:

1st place - VVIP supporter's experience at Stellenbosch UCI XCO weekend

2nd Place - Exclusive Rider's Package to Giro del Capo 2019

3rd place - 2 year Bikehub premium subscription

edit:Admin agreed to double the 3rd prize

Didn't the UCI just announce that the Stellenbosch circuit won't be included in the calendar for 2019?

  4. So you'll definitely understand the importance of this then!

How I laughed just now.  Actually did this about a week ago.  Needless to say the film broke and out came the selotape  :D

  5. Can anyone verify the latest Vitality stinker that was just posted on Facebook - that many of us won't be issued the ultra-distance 3000 points for a 260km Cullinan to Tonteldoos ride - because we entered as part of a team, and they don't reward team events??

This is ridiculous! As if you peddle less when in a team..Do they think your teammate carries you on his back for a few kms when you are tired  :cursing:

  6. I caught the mtb bug and need a new ride. My current ride is a 2013 Merida Ninety Team HT and looking for a daul sus to help where my skills is lacking. Being a roadie I need all the help I can get. Lol

Planning to do a race every 3 months and maybe a stage race or 2. Plan is to use MTB for leisure or resting and not racing.

I am currently looking at Norco Revolver FS3 and a Merida 96 XT.

Any thoughts on the 2 bikes?

Finish Line Cycle in Kempton Park also stock Norco.

  7. Any advise on this pls:  During the week I train on my Tacx VR Indoor Trainer at home.  I use my Garmin HR belt to record heartrate and the Tacx software records the speed, distance, climbing in meters, power and cadence.  I have been trying for 3 weeks to get points for these workouts.  I am able to upload the tcx and gpx file to my Garmin Connect but Vitality seems to think I am manually entering this data. What to do?

  8. I agree with the previous comments. It's probably a saddle issue. We went through the same hassle and about 3 or 4 saddles before I got her happy. Wider and plusher is not always better. Took her for a bike fit and we swapped to a Specialized Ladies specific saddle and she is as happy as can be, or so I thought.

Which brings me back to the original question. We're now looking for ladies shorts, without breaking the bank. She started with First Ascent, which were okay, but the padding is now becoming soft and she's quite uncomfortable. She also has a Louis Garneu 3/4 short, but because of the length it gets quite hot out in summer time (and she feels she doesn't look as fashionable as the "real" cyclists).

So, ladies shorts for under a thousand bucks, is there even anything?

Recently saw some Watz ladies shorts at Cyclelab.  Maybe worth looking at.

  9. HI

I am looking for a decent pair of ladies shorts for my GF

She has a pair of shorts but takes a few days to recover from cycling because of the pain and swelling

Does anyone know where i can get a decent pair of ladies shorts for a budget price.. IE; under R1000 as we cant afford the expensive ones

Speaking from experience, pls make sure that she is indeed wearing ladies shorts.  The padding between men and ladies shorts/bibs differ considerably and it can hurt you in some very uncomfortable places.

  10. This looks pretty cool - logistical challenge is getting back to the car!

If you maybe enter as a 2-rider relay team - both go to the start, one rider starts the first 80km and the other takes the car to the halfway mark.  There they swop over and the first rider meets the second rider at the finish with the car again.  Not a lot of details on how the relay works.

  11. Batcat trying to figure out how to get up there.

She is growing and very cute..still food crazy and has actually put her whole head in my mouth trying to take my food out of my mouth.

  12. Meet Daniel.  He was rescued from my work in July after living in a drain for who knows how long.  He was taken to the vet and had both his ears amputated due to skin cancer.  In November he had to have all his teeth removed because of severe gum disease.  Here he is now, happy and warm and gratefull to have a home.post-19612-0-00320500-1516684364_thumb.jpgpost-19612-0-27639700-1516684447_thumb.jpg

  13. We spend 4 days at Tranquilitas over the long-weekend 2 weeks ago and loved every moment of it.  The trails are very well marked and easy to combine the options if you don't want to stick to one route.

We stayed in the Perma Tents and it was clean, comfortable and affordable.  The ablution blocks were equally clean and had hot water anytime of the day.

Keep in mind if you stay in Boven and want to ride up to Tranquilitas that it is a 7km climb that would be a challenge for any level of rider.  Stick to the Rim if you can; the views are spectacular.
