  2. HTFU. Sometimes you have good luck and sometimes not. If you get there on time, make an offer, snoozers are losers.
  3. Finally, a decent use for SRAM parts....

  7. Insulation tape has worked for me.
  8. Like I said, not perfect. If someone was paying me to do this, you'd not see anything wrong....Photoshop's my b1tch.
  9. Plastic bag tip works perfectly. Toasty toes this morning.
  10. I ride from Paulshof, down Main past Lonehill to Crowthorne and through Noordwyk to work 3 days a week. You're never safe from idiots in cars but never felt threatened from a crime point of view. 85% dirt, 15% tar. 21km, 360m of climbing to work, 260m climbing home.
  11. I avoid the taxis like the plague - give em a WIDE berth or they'll squash you. Getting aggro with them seldom works in your favour....
  12. haha, I have a bright front light and dress in visible clothing, the chop this morning shoulda seen me! BTW it doesn't affect my mood, I am a happy chappy after my commute. I'll be in a really good mood once I have taught that careless motorist that not being observant is an expensive exercise.
  13. Today I decided that if another moron in a luxury german car pulls out in front of me on my commute when he's at stop street and I have right of way, I WILL bury my 29er ZTR Flow in his car bodywork, my spd's will eat his paint and I will take photos and post them on theHub. Damn motorists! I commute alone and MTB with pals.
  14. If you're going to paint by yourself, use ENAMEL for colour and clear. The normal lacquer stuff is rubbish. Otherwise send in for powder coating. Or strip and polish.
  15. It has a fantastic variety of trail. Jeeptrack sections link flowing singletracks, through forests, open veld areas and some awesome riverside singletrack that'll keep you awake.
  16. It doesn't need a tensioner, it has swap-out horizontal dropouts....
  17. Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely be trying that.
  18. Was a lekker ride i this morning, no wind and a nice sunrise. I learned that I need to do something to keep my toes warmer, felt like they were gonna fall off! My GPS said I had an average of 1degree C on my ride today.
  19. Why spoil a nice bike like this with Avid brakes?
  20. What spacers are you using? I went to the LBS and got a few old XT cassettes and use the alloy spacers from these. Works a treat and looks blingy too cos you can polish them.
  21. Last year I was not that fit and almost died. I was running 32x17 on a rigid 26er. Now I am on a 29er and will be running 32x18 or 16.....yet to decide.
  22. I've experienced that before - riding under power lines.
