  1. And for the price, the Inbred is utterly unbeatable.....
  2. Inbred with horizontal dropouts work a treat. It's really easy to get proper tension and it's super easy to remove the wheel. I don't move the brake caliper every time I adjust tension either. I have a bolt-on hub and use a tug on the drive side only. Neat, clean and easy. Do it.
  3. Fixed.
  4. I received them as donations as part of my Build-a-Bike initiative. Not one bike is complete or functional. Yet. I have a few old-school BB's and cranks that will work. Headsets too. I am busy stripping the frames of all parts and will be building up as many functional bikes as possible. I have about 5 or 6 Hansom frames, some with original forks, some without. I have 2 or 3 Le Jeunes, a 61cm Peugeot Phantom with a broken fork, an old DHC, an old Invader (remember those?) 2 x Treks without derailleur hangers, and a few more random frames and forks. My Build-a-Bike initiative is all about getting reliable bikes to commuters and this normally means MTB's. So.......... if anyone is interested in buying a steel frame that will be good for a SS project, let me know. All funds raised will be ploughed straight into getting more MTB's built up to be given away.
  5. So who's keen to build a SS road bike?
  6. The question is: which will you ride more?
  7. I was contacted by a lady who employs a gardener who recently had an accident on his mountain bike on his way to work. He needs a new v-brake front wheel. Can anyone assist? I also need MTB wheels of all kinds and MTB frames, cranks and seatposts. I have these 2 bikes ready for donation which are awaiting collection.
  8. Are you using a QR or bolt on? Post pics of your setup.
  9. Do some chain line math. Www.singlespeedafrica.co.za/blog
  10. I couldn't agree more. I am a supporter of open standards across all platforms and devices.
  11. OK, OK, OK. I was assuming you read the manual and installed Bryton Bridge2 first. Then it's easy peasy
  12. Bryton users, do the following: Connect via USB to computer Save tracks to computer in .tcx format Upload files to Strava, Fittrack etc Easy peasy.
  13. Nice GT! What fork is that?
  14. Get hold of Jason at International Trade. He's the local Hope importer. http://www.intltrade.co.za/
  15. I run 2.25 Nobby Nics front and back at as low a pressure as possible and they're awesome on all terrain, from tar to sand and loose rocky sections..
  16. Are there zero holes in the seat stay? You may be able to get some advice on where you can drill a small hole in it....
  17. That flat-out sucks.
  18. Sloppy seconds are never nice, sorry.
  19. She's hot but I wouldn't shag her again....
  20. Upgrade to Arch EX rims built on Stans, Hope or even XT hubs. Get them built by a good wheel builder. They will be infinitely stronger and more reliable than the Alex rims that you have now. My mate wrote off his Alex rims on his Scott within 30min of the beginning of his first ride at the PWC bike park. They're rubbish.
  21. On the altitude differences: Calibrate the device often at a known altitude. I use my driveway, as that's where I start riding a lot. I find this value on Strava. Bear in mind that the Bryton uses barometric data. Once uploaded, let's say to strava, the app itself checks the altitude data and corrects it according to known altitude values. I never trust what the device says, only what it says once downloaded to the app, be it Strava, Endomondo or Brytonsport.... On the heart rate strap malfunction: I have heard of this happening. Contact bryton.co.za, they have had a batch of faulties and may replace it under warranty. Don't quote me on that, but they did it for one of my mates who had the same issue.
  22. I join at the intersection of Main and R55 and ride through Noordwyk to the north of Midrand. There are loads of guys on bicycles on that route. Not too many recreational cyclists, but a fair amount of riders. Check my strava route for some directions: http://app.strava.com/activities/66935421
