  1. Please don't post profiles like this 10 days before the event if it's gonna change. Surely you have finalised the route by then?
  2. I can't argue that! I was severely under-geared on my SS (32x18) so I was at a disadvantage in the beginning stages with the fast terrain and the first guy from C to catch me was at the 18km waterpoint. I was expecting sooner!
  3. Sounds like you wouldn't pass a dope test....
  4. I have Deores (M596) and they are awesome, cheap, powerful, reliable, quiet and awesome. Do it. Throw that Avid rubbish out.
  5. Sorry about that. At least you can buy a Nissan or Ford now.....
  6. Venue was lekker for the family though. Was lekker to ride with JCZA for a lot of the race.
  7. Ok. Done and dusted. Literally. The rave: I improved vastly compared to last year. 2012 was 67km and I did it in over 4 hours. This year was 74.8km and I did it in 3:45. Rant: 74.8km. They could have told us. Why are the published profiles and distances ALWAYS different to reality? The 20&40km races joined the 70 route just before a river crossing. Read: bottleneck creation. I'm impressed with my progress but Cullinan won't see me again.
  8. Those are the only grips you'll ever wanna use after trying them. Can't wait to see your Inbred built up. I love mine! Just weighed it too and it's 12.11kg with Manitou Tower forks and ZTR Flow/Hope Pro II wheels.
  9. Who else is doing it SS? What ratio's you running?
  10. See you at the end for a few dops.
  11. You riding Rouxtjie?
  12. Much, much easier than the Monster. You should do the Cullinan race about an hour (or more) faster than the monster.
  13. I download the TCX files to my PC and upload to Strava. I let Strava keep my history.
  14. Here's Paul with his new LOOK road bike. Shimano 105 7 speed down tube shifters, FSA Gossamer crank, Alex wheels, Tiagra brakes with old school Tektro levers. He's stoked!
  15. Here's the bike I'm donating to Paul Botha as part of Radio 702's birthday wish initiative.
  16. +1000 on the 540's
  17. And what would Jens do?????? Whatever you do, get a bell and use it. This fails, whistle or shout. My Hope hub is actually loud enough about 50% of the time......

    Grip rings

$50 is double what ESIs cost......
  19. Here's the start of another bike being built. I need mtb and road wheels please if anyone has any to donate. Thanks!
  20. Most ali chainrings for SS use are made from 7075....
  21. Pics dude, pics!
  22. I'm saving for a Brooks....I like their new Cambium.... http://www.brooksengland.co.uk/images/cache/shop/shop_saddles/touring___trekking/cambium_3_4_uomo_w375_h275_vamiddle_jc95.jpg
  23. I have set up an old 7-speed Shimano 600 derailleur with 105 downtube shifters to work (on friction mode) with a 10-speed cassette....no hassles.
  24. Is the short one for a gripshift? (Not that SRAM belongs anywhere near a bike sporting Brooks goodies....)
  25. I hope you get an entry, Sean!
