  1. If they both cost the same then they have the same value for money? Although you do have to factor in resale value as well if you want to sell it one day. Have a look at warranty terms as well. In this case I'd say to go with the one that has the geometry that would suit you.
  2. Subtle? The graphic change is quite noticeable, as is the speed increase. It's a lot narrower in terms of screen space, is there a setting for making it wide again?

  4. I'm using a no-sweat bandana which works well most of the time. Also shields my noggin from the sun. (the hair on top isn't as plentiful as it used to be).
  5. Since riding on a 29er requires such little effort you don't sweat and hence, don't need to wash your clothing afterwards.
  6. Dangle, your roastie is definitely worse than mine! I've always thought that I should let it dry out and form a scab rather than keeping it moist. Guess it depends on how bad it it and what kind of wound? @ Pietervdw: I've heard Savlon is better than Dettol because Dettol may kill white blood cells.
  7. So, I lost some traction, gravity won and I now have a nice roastie just below my knee. Any advice on the treatment or anything that I can do / put on it to speed up the healing? What do you guys usually do / use?
  8. Sounds like you are volunteering to be the guinea pig
  9. Interesting idea, but it could be a problem if you need to replace a spoke? I would definitely be interested in a more affordable alternative to rim tape.
  10. 1) Take a spare tube and pump. The sealant can only fill holes up to a certain size and won't generally work on side-wall cuts. 2) Depends on the type of sealant you use. I've used slime pro and only needed to fill it up after 6 months 3) yes, but it's a bit pointless 4) in my experience, no pinch flats (which tends to happen often on rocky terrain), you can run lower pressure which adds comfort and traction and the sealant does seem to work better with tubeless than with tubes. Never had any problems with punctures while running tubeless. Definitely worth the upgrade!
  11. SlimePro lasts quite long. I opened up my tyres after more than 6 months and it was still liquid. It did have some residue, but no lumps.
  12. From the pics on the site it seems like you can twist the part that attaches to your bike so that you can attach it to the seat post. It does look nice and sturdy, Topeak make good products.
  13. And some more ideas... http://recklesscognition.wordpress.com/2009/01/13/methods-for-attaching-water-bottle-cages-without-screws-and-bosses/

  15. I run my tubeless at 1.8, but it will vary according to terrain and your weight. Generally you would run tubeless with a bit less pressure than tubes. It gives you more contact with the ground and a softer ride. 3.5 would definitely be too much.
  16. To what pressure are you inflating the tyre? Road or mtb?
  17. According to the specs it should be 31.6 mm
  18. A vernier calliper should be able to tell you the width. I saw a cheapie at Game the other day for less than R20.
  19. Took the Tread Mag one in PE at end of 2010 and it was pretty good. Learned a lot of helpful things! Wish they would have a follow up here with the advanced course.
  20. While on holiday I rode my cousin's bike, an older mesa with similar specs and I was pleasantly surprised, it's a nice entry level bike and I had a lot of fun on it.
  21. Your best bet would be to go to a bike shop and actually sit on the bike. They should be able to take some measurements and do a fitment as well. Or if you want to do it online you can try Fit Calculator
