  1. I've taken my fork apart to adjust the travel from 80mm to 100mm. (Reba, think about 2008 model) I only found one 15mm c shaped spacer inside. Now this may be a silly question, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. Do I just take the spacer out and run it without any spacers or do I have to have a spacer in there? The spacer measures 15mm, so I'm not sure I will be getting a full 100mm travel either?
  2. Both, but the helmet one does make a big difference especially in the corners! You can also get a wide angle lense for the magic lights, which should help with the corners.
  3. You could easily upgrade the fork for that price. If possible take both for a test ride.
  4. Silverback has better wheels, KHS has better fork. I'd go for the KHS, personal preference based on reviews I read on the Silverback. What is the price difference between the two?
  5. It almost looks like it might be more cost effective to buy a complete bike (ht) and build the parts over to the Pyga frame.
  6. Saw an article that says that cyclists / joggers are worse off because they are exerting themselves and therefore taking in more air and pollutants compared to someone just sitting in a car with a lower heart rate and breathing. I have also noticed that I'm more sensitive to smells like fumes from cars when cycling. A mask of some sorts may help a bit.
  7. Maxxis crossmarks last quite long. The rocket rons I have on now don't look like they will last very long.
  8. Here's an article from Pinkbike on the negative air spring: http://www.pinkbike.com/news/Tech-Tuesday-negative-spring-air-shocks-2012.html
  9. Weetbix is high GI I think, it won't keep you full for long. I've also found that catch 22: Train more to lose weight, but it makes you hungrier.
  10. You will be swimming in the ocean as well, so the water will be rougher than in a swimming pool. You might have to adjust your technique for that as well.
  11. Search a bit, has been discussed before...
  12. Nice double backflip on a mtb (after a faceplant or two) http://bikemagic.com/news/video/first-mountain-bike-double-backflip-landed-by-paul-basagoitia.html
  13. Stan's make them, American Classic as well and others. Expect to see a lot more of them next year.
  14. I think there has been a debate between 700c (29er) and 650b for road.
  15. Not sure of the exact numbers, but it's something like 40% off a new helmet when you bring the crashed one in. Limited to 2 or 3 years from your purchase date I think. Take it to the lbs you bought it from, they should be able to tell you more.
  16. Looks cool. Any idea on battery lifetime before it needs recharging?
  17. Scott Watu is also in your price range, but I'd take the Bell for the crash replacement warranty.
  18. I like the mavics, but the hubs (if they are still the same design as my crossrides) need regular cleaning to keep them working properly or the bushing will wear out quickly. Both are easy to service. I did find that the cup and cone style hubs like the xt ones are more difficult to get right without having a tiny amount of play in them.

  20. I'm facing similar issues with finding a 29er with geometry that I like. Found a 29er DS that I like with the same TT length as my 26 DS, but in medium size the stand over height is a bit too high for comfort So the search continues...
  21. I still have mine from when I was a kid as well as the bigger duplo blocks
