  1. The more tired you are the more you will notice the difference. An when you have to carry the bike.

  4. DirtyFrank is right. I've had the same issue with my mavic hubs. Unfortunate flaw in an otherwise good wheelset. http://roguemechanic.typepad.com/roguemechanic/2006/05/how_does_a_mavi.html
  5. Why not the fork? It's pretty easy to service if you have the right tools
  6. Maybe a thudbuster type seatpost can do the job?
  7. I know you get wide angle lenses for the magic lights. They are about R80 or so at my lbs.
  8. PYGA ONETEN 29 @ R16K http://www.pygaindustries.com/pyga-bikes/oneten29/ Others to consider (don't know pricing): Santa Cruz TallBoy, Salsa Spearfish, Niner Jet 9. Have a look in the classifieds as well.

  10. If your gears are adjusted correctly then you don't need the plastic bit.
  11. Here is an article showing the basics of changing the spacer. If you have the right tools it's not too difficult. http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/article/workshop-how-to-adjust-travel-on-a-rockshox-trail-fork--26840/
  12. Contact Johan from Yellow Saddle (in jhb area though), he knows a bit about forks. Also, check out this article: http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/article/workshop-how-to-adjust-travel-on-a-rockshox-trail-fork--26840/
  13. I'm assuming the poster is talking about this type of wobble, which is pretty normal:
  14. Saddle bag, or now that I have a Camelbak, in there. I have a gps, so I don't need endomondo. I lost my phone a while back by having it in my pants pocket, but fortunately someone found it on the trail and I got it back. I think you do get phone brackets that you could mount it on your stem / toptube.
  15. I think some of the Sparks will come with a fox rear shock instead of the DT Swiss.
  16. If you decide to do Norm-Hudlin just phone ahead, we have had lots of rain lately and the track was pretty soaked last week and this week. Be prepared for mud
  17. Managed to get one from a guy here in P.E.
  18. I recently purchased a Bryton Rider 50 gps second hand, but it didn't have the maps dvd with it that usually comes in the box. The original owner seems to have misplaced it. I have phoned the local cycling shops but they don't have stock so I can't borrow one from them Apparently there is also one with the HD maps on it. I have also emailed the suppliers, but have had no response yet. If there is anyone in the Port Elizabeth area that has either dvd I would appreciate it if I could borrow it to install the maps onto my gps. Or if you are willing to make a copy and post it I will compensate you for it. Thanks!
  19. I think it's ugly and overpriced, but it has some cool electronic sensors built in: http://www.factorbikes.com/astonmartin/specifications.html
  20. Try the local bike shop, they might have spares.
  21. It wasn't too difficult, if you have the right tools. Google for the right year model service manual. Here are some guides to help out: http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/article/workshop-how-to-adjust-travel-on-a-rockshox-trail-fork--26840/ and there are some nice YouTube videos as well. Here is the guide to adjust the travel: http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/article/workshop-how-to-adjust-travel-on-a-rockshox-trail-fork--26840/
  22. I have a pair of the Olympics. Comfort is good, and so far they are durable. I only rinse them off after riding so I'd say they clean pretty easily. The soles are quite stiff, which is good for pedaling, but not so great for walking. Biggest issue for walking is the lack of grip because of the 'plastic' nature of the soles. They have very little grip on big rocks. The Serfas' soles look like they are more rubber which should give better grip. As for shock absorption... that's what your legs are for!
  23. A technique that works well for me: get off and walk
