  1. Have a couple lying about but I am in Durban. As a matter of interest, what is the length of that rear skewer? I am looking for a super long skewer as spare for my Old Man rack.
  2. Hairy, you asked........herewith in shopping mode
  3. There done! Sounds like a butterfly in slippers. Good for another few thousand kms.
  4. Graham at eBike Cafe in Jhb. Tried the Squirrel guys in your area but they are either too busy or were not prepared to help. Garvin only interested in new bike sales which meant I would forfeit my expensive seatpost and stem/bars, thumbies. So much cheaper to convert your own bike and keep existing components instead of having parts and wheels etc included and then lying about afterwards. Biggest problem is your BB width. Once you know that and the ID, you can order spacers if need be. Ebike worked that all out for me based on photos. The rest is plain and simple. Really it is! Tips - big enough spanner to tighten BB lock ring, HD rubber under motor against frame (if needed) Gear cable routed through a piece of outer cable to prevent squashing, have the motor tuned down and definitely fit a 36T NW Lekkie ring as this saves motor, legs and allows more distance/charge, more spokes in the rear wheel (torque), fabricate a DECENT mounting bracket on the frame to hold the battery and secure with a strap for extra safety = rivnut. One of the best experiences I have had whilst cycling. I have seen places I would never seen only because I am on an ebike. I am able to go the extra mile and see what is on the other side of the hill and not worry about the effort involved. My opinion anyway. Contact me if you need more info. Just do it! You will thank me later.
  5. 500W Truckrun motor WITHOUT all the paraphernalia (boost, clutch thingy, windy-windy, hooter, usb, compass. drinks holder etc,,etc etc, etc) Plain simple motor with most basic controller and with 9 power stages which have been set right down to the lowest I was told.
  6. After +5000kms on my home fitted motor I thought it was time for a service. Still looks new inside although a tad dry. What I like about this motor- Easy peasy to install and service Much cheaper than buying an eBike Customisable - extra distance on the battery No need for extras to make a new bike suit your needs Fit, charge and ride.
  7. Done. Thank you. Will give it a test. Something more to play with. Might prove interesting?
  8. Nothing like a night ride before curfew to get rid of the Christmas pud
  9. At the docks. My old working environment in my previous life. (have no idea why the vessels look as though they are sinking)
  10. Seriously, those two horses (Welsh pony) look very much like the ones I once owned. Gelding upfront and a young filly which was too young to ride at the time but both grew up together. Tame as heck! Takes me back. (could be mistaken though?)
  11. My Suunto Ambit watch strap has gone and bust again. These straps suck big time. Any suggestions where to get a replacement? Originals can cost 1K and they don't last. Any idea of an alternative strap replacement method?
  12. Sorry to hear Rob. Was it locked? Which area as this is my hood as well?
  13. How does one actually know if the item is still available???? I don't have the facility to ask a complete question as it is cut off at the bottom of the page. Same as for the reply. Very difficult to correspond via Hub messaging. Old system was WAY better. Prefer all correspondence in writing .....old school.
  14. What a loss of a true champion fighter. Many lessons learnt. Much sympathy to all concerned. Damn!
  15. Humvee?
  16. Might be of interest......somebody might have tried it previously. I plugged a large puncture in a tubeless tyre and after a while it started to leak again. The tyre was still in good nick so decided to MacGyver it as I had nothing to repair it with, or so I thought. I opened the tyre and squirted some Alcolin over the leaking plug and worked it into the leak and the plug fell out. I let it congeal for a bit, added about 60ml Alcolin to the sealant and pumped up. After 600kms the hole is still sealed and all is good. Maybe the tyre will be difficult to remove ????
  17. I agree with the Chilled problem in Cape Town \. Have you tried eBike Café in Joburg. Speak to Graham. One of the most understanding person in the eBike game. Got my motor etc from him and did my own installation, Piece 'o Pie. and have never looked back.
  18. Just love your pics. Lovely isolation.????
  19. Ha ha! Bad luck. I also got necklaced last week, twice in fact. Outcome was exactly the same ????
  20. Damn Fanie, Did not know this was on. Would have made a plan again. Best social ride on the calendar.
  21. You are quite correct Sir. Distinctive V on the head.
  22. If I think I know what you are wanting..... If you have a long cage derailleur then you should be able to do it by adjusting B screw. I have done it with a bigger cog so you should be fine.
  23. Thanks Dusty, just what I wanted to hear. Have managed to locate two at R600 ea so I guess the bullet is bitten.
  24. @Wheelie87Pratley FrogsEggz. Colour with koki.
