  3. Here are the top picks for Stage 1... so far the Mens race might look a little different across the line. Who did you pick for today in the Mens and Womens race?
  4. Carmen is racing under an Austrian licence and hence is not eligible for the African Jersey competition. Initially she had been included on the official race register as a South African (and as a result within the Fantasy League), but this was corrected shortly before the race.
  5. Picks for the Overall win and the Prologue have been locked down. Who did you favour for today's Prologue? Here are the top picks for the day:
  6. These bikes are from the Stellenbosch World Cup. We featured them together because both sport a custom paint job to match their rider's National Champ jerseys. Fumic is still riding Epic with his other team mate, Avancini (the Brazilian).
  7. We've updated the teams to account for more changes in the Ladies category. Candice Lill now riding with Amy Beth Mcdougall on Team Dormakaba (56). That means they're now eligible for the African Womens jersey.

  9. Just a few hours left until voting closes (tonight at midnight). So far it's a neck and neck race between two finalists with a clear lead on the rest. If you haven't already cast your vote now.
  10. You should see a "Vote Now" button below each finalists video. Click on that on the relevant video to cast your vote.

  12. Hi JLH, Can you confirm who the email came via? Gumtree or Bike Hub? Edit: I assume gumtree given the nature of this thread, but just making 100% sure Thanks Matt
  13. Apologies for the omission - it is on the list now at 0.99%
  14. Moderator note: Please stick to the topic of visibility. While cyclist behaviour is related to the safety issue in general it's a fiery topic which risks derailing this thread altogether. Please rather start a separate discussion on the topic. Further off topic commentary here will be removed.
  15. Boost141 is essentially Boost spacing for quick release dropouts so a 142 TA hub wouldn't be compatible. A standard QR rear hub is 135x10mm, plus the 6mm for boost gets you to 141mm
  16. FYI: https://www.bikehub.co.za/features/_/articles/competitions/epic-enough-to-win-an-entry-r6873
  17. Mod note: 123goat has received a 7 day suspension as a result of 2 warnings this morning. Let's keep this thread on it's track in the spirit with which it began. There are plenty places online to observe racy, or even not so racy images, this thread is not one of them. All we ask for is some respect for the community guidelines, your fellow Hubbers and the moderation team who perform a thankless job trying to keep things on track.
  18. There is something in the pipeline with a different sponsor for 2018. Expect to see some news on that later this month.
  19. Here's an interesting read on the topic from Carlton Reid for BikeBiz: When is a Pinarello not a Pinarello? When it is a Chinarello http://www.bikebiz.com/news/read/when-is-a-pinarello-not-a-pinarello-when-it-is-a-chinarello/019438 Towards the end of the article he digs into more behind the factories behind these "replicas" and busts some of the myths around fakes. If you'd really like to get stuck in there's a 25000 word piece entitled "Faking it" which gives a lot more insight.
  20. Here's an extract from something we posted on the topic a few years ago:
  21. These are simply illegal never mind unethical. The advert has been deleted and the advertiser's account suspended as per our T&Cs. No counterfeit or otherwise illegal product may be listed for sale. Any such adverts will be removed and the advertiser's account suspended.
  22. Definitely! There will be many post ride beers & coffees on the new trails all the donations help build. Disclaimer: We'll still be more than a little jealous of the lucky Santa Cruz / Juliana winner

    Review: Momsen VIPA

This one was internally routed through a port on the left side of the down tube (unfortunately not shown in the images). The 2017 spec Vipa frames have full internal routing for more cables with ports on both the left and right. See the first look at our long term test Momsen Vipa Two here: https://www.bikehub.co.za/features/_/gear/previews/first-look-2017-momsen-vipa-two-r6081
  24. Hi sram, Apologies for not yet responding to your email from yesterday. We've been awaiting the final prize certificate / vouchers (which have now been received and sent to you).
  25. Coming soon! Check out the Trails in motion website for provisional dates and locations: http://www.trailsinmotionmtb.com/find-a-screening We'll post more details about upcoming screenings around SA closer to the time.
