  1. That place has so much potential. Could fulfill a tier of conservation, research, sports training and tourism markets. Staff are keen, well trained and there’s a good baseline for the infrastructure. Fukal leadership though.
  2. I must be broken, prime pun opportunity and I have nothing! 🥹
  3. Well the designer was originally based with Pyga bikes. Even so, one can line up a number of trunion style frames and they’ll all have a similar look one way or another. It’s neither here nor there.
  4. Must be looking at different images, every single image there is clearly a gravel environment.
  5. Okes. You don’t need a G Wagon…. https://www.facebook.com/reel/4490714944388266?fs=e&s=TIeQ9V&mibextid=E1j3LJ
  6. I often commute, and for a lot of errands etc use the bike. When working ‘corporate’ I car pooled with three others, for the relative effort the benefits far exceeded any inconvenience.
  7. Got in a ‘Sunday Funday’ city and park explore. Haven’t done one in a while, totally impromptu, and pulled in two others from one of my ride groups.

  9. But isn’t that conflating two entirely separate things, both of which can be true at the same time? HGVs aren’t clogging up suburbia and peak hour traffic.
  10. And ironically almost always single occupancy on commutes or to events even. Then complaining about fuel costs etc … 🤷‍♂️
  11. Quiver got updated with a new gravel steed recently. Merida Silex 4000 now pared with a Titan Cypher Elite …. Hoping that when I’m not looking, they’ll gefuffel in the dark and breed some N+1
  12. That’s the one. Seems through an intermediary and/or fake profile he’s been trying fob this, the event and Affordable Outdoor Gear on a well known Facebook group, Pembi.
  13. Almost around the same time I asked on an FB group post advertising Affordable Outdoor Gear, if Taun Bewsher is involved.
  14. CGC need to clean up the social channels and website so that people can see there’s something happening in public. Currently for MTB there is a closed telegram group for members to see updates on events.
  15. How’s that quantifiable as “road is dead”? I do plenty early morning runs/rides as well as the evenings. Plenty groups out riding in the mornings all around Jhb. Cradle and SBR is pretty busy as well. I use my gravel bike plenty on the road when not out mountain biking.
  16. This sounds amazing. Had a number of good rides at Holla over the years, really pleasing to hear that you guys are hosting an enduro. All the best!
  17. Heard Stefan saying that he heard clicking when Morath moved her shoulder. 😬
  18. Hard fall among the leading ladies, Kim Le Court and Adelheid Morath. Took a while to get going again, Le Court seems fine and Morath may have a collar bone/shoulder injury. Bulls media bike with Stefan Sahm was on site and helped.
  19. YouTube/Google search Bikamino. You’ll find a route recce we did from Upington/Springbok down to Hondeklip Baai via the Kwagamossie, Spektakel Pass, Namaqualand. Should definitely be able to string a ride route or few from there.
  20. Karkloof, SA Gravel Champs, 2023. Never forget.
  21. UB had its fair share of complaints about that. That aside, there are some bloody marvellous dairy farms around Karkloof, cheese is lyfe!
  22. You chatted to Mello Velo on Broadacres? They seem to have stock of everything!
  23. Imho the protest was needed and well applied, even Pidcock supported it, which speaks volumes. Schurter didn't 'lead' this, he put his name as a signatory (among others) to the detailed letter which outlined the issues and how the UCI's arbitrary application was inconsistent and selective. Consequently, it can affect things like Olympic selections. Credit to Schurter for adding his name and bringing more attention to a well-articulated protest. The arguments about the bigger personalities are shallow and inherently dishonest. The people who not did apply their minds here are the UCI in their act here, including support for it.
  24. Fair enough, but then form an intelligent question. It seems you ignored the objective points made and then only took on some of the negative remarks. By and large, the course was accepted as such to a standard worthy of national level, as indicated by the winner.
  25. Like Tshwane Classic? 🫠
