  1. Not too untoward, ideally would fetch more with a really niche collector or even Mercedes. Far as I recall this was a concept project from the 90s or early 2000s More questionable to me is the already sold Specialized DH bike.
  2. Try now - Post meeting Mountain Safety Initiative post meeting press release .pdf
  3. Mountain Safety Initiative post meeting press release .pdf
  4. Messaged the RTD organisers who got hold of the riders, all is good. ”I just heard back from Tom and they said they know the guy selling the bikes for them. So it’s all ok. Thank you again for being on the lookout though :-)”
  5. Still to be introduced into the market post production. Likely later this year towards early next year. Keep an eye out for Trailwolf Cycles in Modderfontein/Sandton/Edenvale area. I happened to be there when the Leatt guys were around with samples.
  6. He does say he is selling the bikes together. Searched out the race number names on FB, from all the results it looks like a French couple. By all accounts they could’ve been traveling and this is just one of those oddball travel stories. In any case not h going to speculate too hard, messaged the RTD organisers on Instagram.
  7. Maybe contact the organiser of RTD?
  8. Super sketch.
  9. FYI - came through a WA group Mountain safety initiative press release _ FINAL D_231101_063805.pdf

  11. Is this some sort of offer? 😛 ...
  12. A bit OT ... Is that up in Northern Cape, near Spektakel pass?

  14. The smell of beer, sweat and boerie rolls ......
  15. We'll be having our informal support station near the top of Jan Smuts again, gees and vibes!
  16. Hi @ZNIPERZA welcome, I've helped a few people onto bikes over the years, a few shapes and sizes as we all tend to be. Not sure of your cycling experience? Have you considered something of a hybrid? Not all too common, but can be adapted for you. Or for example, an endurance road bike/gravel bike converted to a flat handlebar setup might work perfectly in your favour for comfort on the road. For a wider saddle people often opt for a cheaper aftermarket option with a gel over cover, be careful of too much padding as it often causes more pain and chafing. If budget isn't too much of a concern then I'd look at something from one of the known brands. Ie; Topeak Ergon, Specialized, Bontrager, Selle Italia etc A bike fitment could also be a world of good. Hope this helps, happy riding mate!
  17. 'Investment property' developments being sold by developers. A 1 bedroom, which is basically a loft with enough space for a double bed, just. Apartment. Literally half the size of Mandela's prison cell. At least a bike at any price provides a platform of escape. How long is a piece of string, it can be pulled in many ways.
  18. info@trailwolf.co.za - Shaun and Matt (Outland Escape) have done a couple trail networks that side. They also created Wolwespruit and took over Taroko (Modderfontein) Other names to throw in the hat; Glen Harrison, Dustin Rudman, Fritz Pienaar and Gavin Pelser.
  19. Spoke with a mate on zoom who has family working within the group, weighing quite heavily on them. Particularly with a toddler and new born. Anyway, objectively there’s a lot of discussion here at cross purpose that is essentially saying the things. Ice is not wrong, cycling ownership and participation numbers are at their highest in a longtime, far more than pre-covid. Any market that experiences a boom will see a contraction, that’s just how it works. Even for people who may have stopped post “boom” the balance is higher than previously. For the mid/long term that’s good. A negative influence many don’t seem to be considering though, is the compounding knock on effect of oversupply on the back of manufacturing, shipping and logistics bottlenecks. Which started around late last year already. Some manufacturers had setup tents in parking lot’s to accommodate stock that brands refused to take on. When there was a global bottleneck with a rush of demand, costs soared throughout manufacturing and supply chain. Shipping containers for example more than trebled in costs. This was all partly absorbed by brands and companies, and partly by middlemen and consumers. Come 2022/2023 we have an oversupply (mostly due to trying to play catch-up) in midst of a global economic downturn where everything has increased in cost. worth a read https://www.bike-eu.com/46270/signa-sports-problems-not-only-related-to-cycling-industry-issues?giftCode=5MykuKUUQPeH2PR3BGaYbYhUY3YM1ViHYJFOc7jcsrC5m4coKcRGnVaQYKE_xxT7&social=copy
  20. Even worse, those old school neoprene boots that were affixed by velcro.
  21. 9/10 that isn’t even him in the pic. Well caught though.
  22. Good move, laaitjies preference over rides any gaf over random interwebs forum.
  23. With the webbing it helps with protection against rust, although cleaning post ride is probably best practice for any edc item. It’s designed as belly holster, so there shouldn’t be any contact on the knees, access can be adjusted depending on how you make changes. Keeping in mind one needs to practice drawing access, otherwise it defeats the advantage of any carry system.

  25. Belly holster, works exceptionally well and can be modified easily enough. https://stemarshop.co.za/product/byrna-belly-holster/?attribute_size=(L-XL)+95cm+To+125cm&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIhbXQkq_ugQMV2evtCh2PFQW1EAQYAiABEgLh1fD_BwE
