  1. Daemon, only people intimitely acquainted with falling at Logwood could feel so passionate?! Just kidding, I agree fully, some of those poles look real dangerous (surprisin considering the general safety everywhere else)
  2. Too short notice, not enough training (grin) Next time?
  3. My morning ride partner was telling me that last year was his first Argus. 2 weeks before the race, he decided to ride HAVING NOT RIDDEN A BIKE IN YEARS!! He finished in a respectful 6 hours! I think that takes guts! More importantly, it didn't scare him off for life! Amazing!
  4. Hmmm... I haven't taken any leave yet, but maybe I can take off some Wednesdays. That sounds like a good idea, two short weeks instead of all those long ones!!!
  5. What is wrong with my friends? Have they been hanging around me too much?! I thought I was the one that always hurt myself when MTBing! Not to worry, I am friendly and can make new friends easily. I will survive (sob!) And I will have a dedicated photographer (slowpoke) who I will drive to and from the venue to ensure that she has no option but to take fast-looking photos of me on my new bike!!! Chuckle!MichH2006-11-07 08:41:03
  6. No credit sounds like a good option. Make you appreciate it more! Can't wait for you to come play with us. Hey! I can lend you a hardtail if you want to come play on Sunday?
  7. Aw IanJ, we will go play in December once the 94.7 is done. I'm just way more excited about my Scott than worried about a fall! But then I know my 94.7 time will be nothing special (first time I'm riding, so it doesn't matter how it goes, it'll still be my best 94.7 ever!)
  8. Cherry, I've just gotten over a stomach bug, but mine was cramps and trying not to lose my lunch! I eventually ended up at Wilgeheuwel on Friday night when the 2nd doc I'd seen also couldn't make the cramps go away. My poor hubbie was so worried about me! By Saturday midday I was fine, Sunday morning, my sis came down with the same thing...
  9. So, I know Dirt Rider, Ewep and I FLY are going to Dullstroom to go and ride from pub to pub or something, but is there no-one else willing to risk some skin a week before 94.7?!
  10. DARN STRAIGHT you will not be getting on a bike! Sheesh!!
  11. WW! What happened?! From the sounds of things you had a major crash?! Haven't you just come back after a wrist op?
  12. Where are you? Looks like the Philippenes? Some island? Oh duh, blonde moment, check your profile. Now, where is Suriname?!
  13. OK, my new baby is coming out of the closet. She is dressed up in her finest components and wants to go play at Logwood. We're going to fiddle with suspension settings and see how she corners, who's up for some fun at Logwood?!
  14. Hey all, who's up for another trip out there this Sunday?! I have a new baby girl (my full suss Scott) and she's been asking me nicely all week to take her out and have some fun!! I'm really keen to go to Logwood this Sunday, any takers?
  15. Mampara, it's so great to hear how you are rebuilding so diligently. Sounds like you are really loving your riding at the moment and that's the important part! Now to get you on that mountain bike!!
  16. Thanks guys, Daemon, we got a looong stem to counter the fact that the frame is a bit small. I'll need to try it out and see what the handling is like, see whether it's right or not. Can't wait to get onto it so I can let you all know what it's like!
  17. Just wait Jason, you'll get hooked :-) I remember reading that Groenkloof in Pta loans MTBs, might make the trip more of a success? Otherwise if you can supply bikes, Northern Farm is a cheap option. Alternatively look at www.cultcycling.co.za/ email geoff@cultcycling.co.za, his website talks of corp team building days? Good luck, take pics! ;-)
  18. Good luck I FLY. I know you have successfully completed in the past and will do so again. Are you taking your 'toyboy' again or do you have a real partner?!MichH2006-11-03 02:55:24

    SERVICE ...

No suggestions from my side, apart from emailing them and pointing them to this post (an opportunity to clear their name). Good luck
  20. Thanks guys, Marius, I bought the Scott frame second hand and it came in small. That's why I'm a 'little' worried about the size, but the geometry when we measured it out works out almost identical to my hardtail, so I'm hoping she handles OK. We've built it up little by little as the funds came through (!). I bought the frame in July and it has been an exercise in patience to wait to finish it! I'll have to ride her to see how she handles, but I fit the upper limit for the frame, and I keep on hearing that you can afford to go a bit smaller on a full suss to give you extra maneuverability (OK, so I'm hoping it all works out) I'll have to let you all know once I've ridden it...
  21. So, we are in the final stages of building the Scott. We started bleeding the brakes last night, but we haven't got all the bubbles out yet, so we'll finish in the next two days or so (busy busy weekend ) So now we need to neaten up all the cable ends, finish the routing, and set up the seat height, and the rebound on the shocks. She's beautiful... but I'm worried about the short distance between the handlebars and seat. Am I being paranoid?
  22. Dirt rider, when are you back exactly? P.S. enjoy the honeymoon!!

    You wanna swim like WHAAAT?!
  24. Well my bout with stomach cramps and vomiting should help with losing those 2 extra kilos . At least I feel a bit better today, but no riding for me this weekend. Will have to take it one day at a time (still feel like I waas hit by a bus)
  25. Hi all, I will also have a spare hardtail for someone to try out, as my full suss is nearly finished! I am probably working, but will make a plan to sneak off for some riding!! Hehehe! MTB it is, DR, ewep, Wonder Woman, IanJ and Sonic, that should be enough for some fun rides!!MichH2006-11-02 01:42:36
