  1. I'm on the IDT tomorrow, sigh!
  2. It has happened to us all. If you ride it enough, it gets better. Then you progress to Botswana sand flanked by thorn bushes, ouch! Hope you recover quickly, it can be very draining being covered in bruises!
  3. cervelo, I read on the Duathlon post that you fell? What happened? Knowing Bubba's, it was either sand or rocks!!
  4. Hahahahaha! I guess that's part of the game, sometimes even when we think we're doing everything 100% right, we get it wrong ;-)
  5. Hey thanks miss v, you'll make me blush! It's wierd how no matter how well you appear to ride to others, there's always areas you want to improve and others that you admire! It was so great riding with the gang yesterday, no pressure to perform and a safe environment to larn and improve. Really liked the vibe and Steve couldn't stop raving about what a great day he had!
  6. Yeah Mints, it's always the silly ones! There was this little uphill with rocks that you had to clear. I've cleared it the last 3 times or so but this time, as I dropped to granny and pedalled like mad, my front wheel zigged, then zagged, so I hit the biggest rock instead of the easy way. I stopped on top of the rock (no more momentum) and slowly toppled onto the unclipped side! I had a really great ride yesterday from a confidence perspective. Rode a bridge that has been above my mental level and felt like a champion riding a loose rocky slope! Always a good way to end a weekend ;-)
  7. So true! I got over some of my fears on the MTB this weekend, rode a bridge for the first time in a long time and was very happy with my skills on a rocky section of the trail. But it comes at a price, fell over on some rocks and added some new bruises! No skirts just yet :-D
  8. I got to see it in the flesh and it looks beautiful!
  9. Cat-i will be there but not sure what kit. She has left already!
  10. How much do you weigh again Dick? Do you think you were too close to the limit for the wheel you were riding? I'm clueless about road stuff. Just discovered my 50cm Haro is a compact, which is why it sounds small but it's not...
  11. OK, my Saturday ride just turned into a roadie ride to test the new stem on my Haro. Turns out my bike is a 50 compact, so now I know that it is the right size for me. Now to fix the little things that are hurting me (sigh) Sunday 9:00 with Beee at Groenkloof. See post under TCS
  12. Konafan, I'm riding Groenkloof on Sunday, so was looking at Jhb...
  13. I guess the easy answer is to ask for a translation? My Afrikaans isn't exactly great either
  14. Hi guys, Busy setting up my weekend. Anyone in for a Saturday afternoon ride? Looking for 2-3 hours, easy pace, hilly route. Might make it a 'gulp' road ride if I don't have any takers!!
  15. I have no riding plans for saturday, why don't we put together a 2 hour ride? Anyone in? Only problem is that I won't be 'racing' but trying to keep to my HR zones!!
  16. I call troll on your 3 litres of beer a day! However I wish you luck with losing weight

    New name

That's already taken... by my friend... who shall remain nameless for the sake of his honour!!!

    My new baby

Sounds like we're ganging up on jellytot! Does she KNOW what Groenkloof looks like?! Maybe I can adjust my scale on my HR file so it looks flat!!!

    My new baby

Always nervous to reply to TCS posts, but sounds good. Lemme just see if anything transpires for NF (jellytot wants me riding flat to undulating, not too rough, erm, Groenkloof doesn't meet any of those criteria?!)

Well done on a good choice! Maybe I should come and see for myself on Sunday. What's your ride plan? I was maybe gonna head out to NF anyway...
  21. Good to know, thanks. What's your weekend plans BB?
  22. I love your ability to hijack your own thread! TWICE! Well done!MichH2007-08-08 07:47:12
  23. Ham and mayo on woolworths seed rolls. Luckily I have an iron stomach so managed to put all thoughts of mice out of my mind and eat regardless. What did you have for lunch?!
  24. Thankfully HR, my cats definitely still chase mice. Although I have to admit that they haven't presented me with the entrails of a mouse (usually only on the light coloured deep pile carpet!) in quite a while. Worst was when Lucy sliced a mouse open, which promptly ran into the inner workings of a built in cupboard, as we were leaving for the weekend! Nothing we could do but leave be, and B had to retrieve it on our return. Amazing that it didn't stink more! OK, now that I've hijacked your thread and put me off my own lunch, I'll go!
