  1. There is a well established ride every Thursday night from the Irene Village mall. Group is called Dark and Dirty and they've been riding every Thurs for 4 years
  2. Thanks Mampara! I wasn't ever allowed access again at work, but being at home gives me time to do the things I want again! When we riding together?!
  3. I have found that resigning my job has given me much more freedom to ride, but there's still only the same choices, Spruit, bikepark, etc! Nice pic, wish we had more of that around here
  4. I hope everyone has a blessed Christmas and that Santa Claus brings you all those bike parts you've been hoping for!
  5. Ox Wagon I saw you ask elsewhere about why you guys are marked DNF. I was rereading the rules (I'm actually DNF 'coz I finished riding at 10:48), and each of your team members HAD to ride. If you had some last minute pull-outs, maybe this is why you're DNF? P.S. I asked Dimitri if he wants the prize back to give to the rightful winner and he said I can keep it, phew!
  6. Cois, I was trying my best to zoon past, no time for chitchat. Next time maybe you'll be on the bike or I'll be off the bike and we can meet properly!
  7. Thanks Scotty, and JLDAM! JLDAM, you woulda been proud, I was wearing my Commencal cycling shirt when I went up to collect my prize
  8. OK, so I won First Solo Female in age group 18 to 29 (geez I feel young!) with 9 laps. However, Cat-i won third OVERALL with 16 LAPS!! That's 280km!!! Like my new Eggbeater pedals, can't wait to fit them!
  9. Pleasure Cois! It was great to 'meet' you out on the track, although next time we will have to meet under better circumstances! I am absolutely broken today...
  10. I'm sure we can make a plan. What time were you thinking (earlier is better for me on a Saturday). Oh, And I need to check out the map as well!
  11. I've been told I'm let off the hook for explaining how much I don't like that bridge just before SP rode, um OFF it! Let's just say the time trial back to the car was tiring! We had a good laugh at Wilgeheuwel casualty. As we're sitting waiting, my casualty doc from when I bent my rims came past. "Hi doc, I m back but this time I brought a friend!"
  12. So how does he/she ride BB? Yeah we had a great ride today, just short (mutual agreement to call it a day!)
  13. It looks awesome BB! I KNOW it will ride faster and allow you to beat DR by a bigger margin, maybe you won't even need to use the 'chick with a mechanical' trick!!
  14. Yep, 3G card is on my shopping list! But for now I have sllllloooooowwwwww dialup (pulls hair out!)
  15. It was with a sad heart that I viewed the 'Access Denied' screen. The day had come. My work access to TheHub had been restricted. So it is with a heavy heart that I bid farewell to my daytime friends. I luckily have Internet Access at home, but it's on dialup, so my post count is sure to drop. SOB! Ah well, it had to happen eventually, maybe I'll get more work done!
  16. Thug, my dad of course! And if I stick to my training program and he gets some speed downhills, then we'll look to compete against team number 705 and 730! MichH2007-09-03 10:41:04
  17. I'm in, but haven't paid yet (received my confirmation email, team 835). BUT, phew R5200 is a lot. Breaking my bank :-( Let's start a list of reasons to do it: Only R10 per kilometre (R5200/2/260km) You get to wear your Sani2C top on other rides and show off that you did the event 4 days off work More?
  18. Well done Colin. I think that this gesture really shows that your heart is in the right place and will win you support. Excellent!
  19. Glad to hear you liked the bike! We will take over the world, BWAHAHAHA!!!
  20. All in all, i'm glad I chose to rather go orienteering in the morning, and then did a sprint down and up the Spruit to get back to the car before the gates were locked!
  21. Go look at amateur's FORA post...
  22. JLDAM has a point. I don't know what your riding style, prefered rides, etc are but I have recently bought a Commencal Meta 5.5 and loving it. JLDAM has demo models that you can try, might be worth taking it for a spin on a trail to see what you think.
  23. And that's why your bikes are all a combination of aluminium and carbon Daemon?!
  24. Johan, I remember reading an article a while ago where keeping the belt in one piece was an issue because of the design of the bicycle? On a chain you can break it and put it back on, but one of the benefits of a belt was that it didn't have that weakness? The article I read (blown if I can remember where!), had to design a rear triangle that could be disassembled or something!
