  1. see, between Jason and I, you were helped quickly and efficiently. Whatt'ya say Jason, do we appoint ourselves as official boffs for the day?!
  2. Don't listen to him, he's used to road bikes which are much more delicate. MTBs are there to have the cr@p ridden out of them and you will need to adjust things from time to time!
  3. Oooo, Jason that was exactly how I did it. But I have to admit, it lacked finesse. Felt embarassed to be caught out using such a crass manner of jpegging it in front of all these IT techies. Thanks for coming out the closet on that one. Now I don't feel so bad!
  4. Must be Mampara's then
  5. ...but they're up there! Woo hoo!!
  6. And I didn't need to say a word. Amazing! Glad to hear you got sorted infernox! Now I just gotta get over this flu and maybe we can go riding again!
  7. Thanks cervelo, whilst I sit here hacking and coughing up a lung!
  8. Again?! I'll go empty it. How can you people rub it in?! I'm sooo desperate to start training again, I'm even jealous of those of you who are on IDTs!!
  9. Hahahahahaha! So THAT'S where it all went! And here I thought it was a nationwide conspiracy to make us go commando!
  10. I'm guessing illegal blood diamonds!! Am I close?
  11. A big shout out from TheHub to Nellie. Tell her she's seriously an addict if she's SMSing her friends to post on her behalf
  12. Nice! Quite convincing for a security officer, wait, don't they have to file reports if they apprehend a thief? He may fail in the writing reports section!
  13. Sooo... are you back in Joburg TooHot!!
  14. Whoop whoop! I'm in! Even have the full 5 and a half inches of freeride suspension for the task! Now to turn the owner into a freerider...
  15. I'm with BigBen, that was definitely not sanctioned use for that bike!
  16. Thyolo, I can hear from your post that you're really feeling pretty traumatised. Hang in there, know that I'm thinking of you. Such a scary happening. Stay safe.
  17. Austin, we just got you into MTBing and now you're getting out?! Pleez tell me you're selling to get a dual susser!
  18. Thanks everyone for trying to chase me home (grin!) DR, I can't resist: Any takers for south side of Everest on a proper full travel bike?!
  19. Mampara has a great bike and Raleigh is definitely a brand to look at, good quality, great price. When it comes to components vs. whole bike, buying a complete bike will save you money, rather than buying it in bits. Also, if you are buying Juicy's to fit to the bike you want, remember that the frame and front fork needs to be compatible with disc brakes as they are mounted differently. There have been some great "buying my first bike" threads, I'll try and find them and post...
  20. Mampara that's how it's designed. You open up the first one, then when you open the second, you click comparison for it to compare the one already open with the one you're opening. I'm a bit full of flu so if that didn't make sense, just know your software's alright!
  21. OK, now that we've solved that problem, I have a new one for you boffs. I forgot to stop recording when we finished riding on Saturday (may have had something to do with the minus three recorded on my HRM, I couldn't feel my fingers or toes!). I only stopped it about 15 minutes later. Can I crop the offending info out of my exercise?
  22. Hmmm, can't really tell if this would be a solution for your dimensions, but you can buy cheap mounting devices from some bike shops, i.e. it's a clamp for your handlebars. I've used one of those an affixed my light to it
  23. Hey BG, did he sound French or South African? It was probably either Graham or Jean-Luc you rode with, both excellent people! Sounds like a great time was had by all, better than me anyway, got flu!
