  1. I've had "lag issues" with my Bryton when using the breadcrumb function. It would update the screen like only once every 5 seconds. The Bryton's altimeter is way out, but I think it just needs to be calibrated. Once it's uploaded it seems fine though.
  2. I've got the 40. It's pretty much identical to the 35 with a minor display-face upgrade and some "training guides" (worthless).
  3. No idea.... Been bitten/stung by one once.... holy crap it hurts
  4. What if it's a 29er SS? If(pants == lycra) { if(saddle==wide || thighs ==big) { get narrower saddle or work on dem thighs. } else { your knees might be angled inwards or your pedalstroke quirky. Look at your cleat angle perhaps? } }

    94.7 Expo

Saw them at the Argus in 2006.... thought I'd propose in 2007.... and the buggers weren't there ;(

    2012 94.7

If you do, try do so at water points... otherwise they have to cover a whole 95km to clean up.... they do however ask that you put it in your jersey pocket
  7. Yup. You can do three things with a GPS (ok, maybe more) Speed measurement during the ride Post-ride analysis Navigation (either like a navigation gps or breadcrumbs)
  8. Sounds awesome. Anyone want to organize a nice one for Pretoria?
  9. Usually it's like this: For sale: blah blah Price: blah blah Shipping: at buyers expense Then what happens, is the seller organizes it and the buyer pays the price plus the shipping amount.
  10. No no. The Garmin speed/cadence module, can be used on your crankarm and works the same way as it would as a normal speedometer. I think the website just has their wording wrong. https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=1266&ra=true That's what you use. It is compatible with the FR too.
  11. I'm only repeating the organizers hey. If there is an organized second lap for these people then so be it. But they did ask (pretty much every year) that people not go do doubles. They said it's because you pay to go once, and then you come back and the numbers don't match anymore (drinks/traffic on the road), etc.
  12. You're not allowed to do a second lap, technically, but just don't tell them it's your second lap. It's how all the guys do double Argus/94.7. As to your timing chip, just keep it in your pocket the second time. The rfid tag has a limited range.
  13. Taking Boschkop out and up with one of the two Boschkop dirtroads?
  14. From Hazeldean to RosemaryHill is around 150m of climbing in total, if you go around the top, which is what I suspect you will do. The two main roads going towards RM_Hill are pretty crappy (really badly corrugated) for a hardtail. The elevation map is the section between the two red dots on the route marking.

    Cricket......

Morkel is working hard on his title as a serial noballer He should really work on that. Being tall is not an excuse.
  16. Whoops. All I saw was bicycles and my heartrate wouldn't go down
  17. 30. Your bike isn't jealous because you have another 2 of them at home.
  18. What's their warranty like? I see they import the stuff.
  19. Used to do it here through rush hour too. Okay, no yellow lines and no cycling lanes and maybe we just did it to annoy the drivers and remind them that bikes > cars Somewhere along the way I lost the balls to do it anymore, so I got a mtb and now there's no need to ride through rush hour anymore. But yeah, it can get rather dangerous.
  20. Michel Herbelin Newport Chronograph, got it for my 21st back when (feels like ages ago).
  21. That looks flippen awesome.
  22. I had similar issues. Turns out my shifters were done, so the gears in my shifters were slipping and in turn the cables relaxed and let my derailleur move. I'd suggest that you ask your LBS to check your shifters for you. This assuming that your bike has done a fair amount of mileage - I had 30'000km on my groupset before my shifters were done. Edit: Yeah, as below... you check your derailleur first?
  23. Yeah I remember the branding on the socks one from when I was a junior. They made us turn over our socks Wait, bar-ends? :^) UCI: CSA:
  24. I'm a lightweight.... in my one Argus there was a 50kph crosswind on the downhill after Chappies. Got blown all over the road. The next year, no wind going down, and averaged 60 on the way down.
