  1. I’ve experienced the same with regards to putting power down. A more upright position had me putting down less power than in a more stretched out flat back riding position. The 60mm will put you more upright. Not sure why this happens. Experts please chime in.
  2. There was a mention of a razor and a bath that I assume was reported. My bad. It was in the classifieds comments thread.
  3. I had no idea I started that many topics. Hope it was of some value to the community. As for being number 8 on the comments side. I’m surprised it only came with one warning point.
  4. Good read: https://www.bicycling.com/training/a20003992/numb-feet/
  5. Also: Consider trying on cycling shoes right after a ride or consider riding to the shop. Shoe size too big: If there is too much room in your cycling shoes, your feet are in constant tension, trying to maintain a powerful pedaling location within your shoes. This pressure and friction may be causing numbness
  6. The Specialized insoles made a huge difference for me. Also not having my shoes too tight. I think your next bet would be cleat position.
  7. Thank you sir. Will pop in there during lunch. Google suggests they are still in the same spot as before. The phone number however doesn't work. Any chance that anyone here has a contact number or know if they are still open?
  8. Do you use contact lenses? I rode with normal specs for a long time and I didn't mind at all. Until that one day I hit deck and used my face to brake. R6000 went bye-bye. Wasn't insured at the time unfortunately. Everything else I can find online is around the R5000 mark for prescription sunglasses. I guess I need to keep poking my eyeballs.
  9. I'm trying my best to love contact lenses but I just can't get used to it. A couple of months of poking my eyeballs is starting to annoy me. I'm very tempted to get some basic frames and getting prescriptions lenses fitted. I will however miss my EV Zero Oakleys. Who has gone the RX route instead of contacts and what frames did you end up using?
  10. It's been a while since I ventured into Midrand for an LBS and I remembered that Summit isn't too far away from my new office. Is Anton still the man behind the shop?
  11. Still 500% better than Bike Addict that has a 100% failure rate when it comes to answering emails, phones, and even to respond to that stupid "add to quote" system.
  12. Placed an order on the 17th and it was delivered today. Shimano chain. Previously I enquired about an order placed on the 30th November and Janos replied within about 30 minutes to my enquiry. Maybe phone them. 'Tis the season to be silly.
  13. I normally run Hans Dampf and recently Onza Ibex on both the front and rear. I prefer to keep maximum grip on the front and ill swop the front to the rear and replace the front with a new tire. I never compromise on grip. More so after roasting my left leg from knee to ankle and have exposed nerves. Never again do I want to be subjected to that pain.
  14. Nope. First post was about helmet vs helmut. I’m still on track.
  15. Was “hydrolic” vs “hydraulic” mentioned yet? Hydrolic disk breaks
  16. Look up the old name for a (backyard) mechanic. "Tjorlapper"
  17. Dankie vir die waardevolle insig. En dankie nog meer dat ek nie afrikaans is nie. Wat n klomp *** name vir goed.
  18. Nee, nee. Voorste skokbreuker vurk en agterste skokbreuker
  19. I think I know a few of the afrikaans ones. Tyre: buiteband Tube: binneband Saddle: saal Seatpost: saalpen Disc brake: skuifrem Brake pad: remskoen Stem: nek Handlebar: handvatsels Chain: ketting Rim: velling Spoke: speek Hub: naaf / spil Back pedal: terugtraprem This could become it's own thread
  20. Post a little wider photo showing the derailleur etc. I spot some marks that could be dirt or damage. Hard to tell.
  21. Random thought. Is the bolt on your derailleur hanger tight? It could have moved out of position when you removed the wheel.
  22. Where are you based? Happy to help if you’re based in JHB.
  23. Or whenever the name for something came to be simply because a certain brand pioneered it. For bikes it is Slime instead of tire sealant. What else is there? I'm drawing a blank.
