  1. Another week of being balls deep in Sufferlandria. From starting on the 4th of November till now I've increased my FTP by 20w. Sufferfest is not fun. Sufferfest is not boring. Sufferfest is serious. When the intro to the training videos come up I get nervous because I know it's going to hurt and it's going to hurt for a solid hour. Sometimes into a very dark place. I really hope they have a Black Friday subscription offer. I love the suffering. +- 5 hours of training on the bike and then 5 hours on the trails this weekend. Going to be a good week overall for me. +- 160km for a change.
  2. I'm sure the off topic threads contribute greatly the advertising revenue. Don't cut off your own nose to spite your face.
  3. Also looking for this. Cheapest I've found so far was CWC at R1399 for gold and R1499 for black.

It really wasn't bad at all. I fell asleep when my right hand was done. Now chest..... 13 hours in total of pain that will make you doubt the origins of man.
  5. Thanks so much for the feedback. I was considering going up Khyber Pass and parking there to ride up Lebanon via Gauntlet. Then down via Bat Outta Hell to Pressure Cooker, Rene's Rumble and back to the car via Khyber Pass again. Still 1000m of climbing over 30km. Looks like the bat will have to wait until this joker finds his legs.
  6. Howick and Karkloof trails are now merged as a single network under Karkloof Club. So, yes.

Just do it!!!! Don't be scared to go bigger than what you think you should get.
  9. Bumping this one up with a question. I've ridden Bat Outta Hell before and I would love to take the lady down when we ride there. Problem is.... elevation gain and distance. She just came out of recover from an injury. I plotted route out on Trailforks and it's 50km with 1000m climbing. Definitely too much for us. Is there a way to shuttle up? Or someone that offers this service?
  10. Looks like you had a blast. I mirror the sentiment of mud getting in there and making you cringe when you wash it out. My chainstays are fairly scratched up already running a 2.4 at the back. I really wish we had more clearance. I'm heading to Karkloof in 2 weeks time. Can't wait to unleash my Following on those trails. Good times are coming. As for easy seating tires... some of them only require an asthmatic sheep with a straw to inflate. PS. No kneepads and those rocks makes my tjommie hurt.
  11. Thank you. Just needed to know that 126 has enough links before chopping it to spec for the Shimano drivetrain.
  12. I never really thought of this before but how would you calculate the amount of links you need for a dual suspension bike. My setup is 30t front with 11-51 rear. I assume buying a 126 link chain should be more than enough to chop down to size. I remember something about 118 only supporting up to 32t but I'm not sure if that keeps chain growth in mind.

Anyone still getting their skin defiled?
  14. The clear tape is a mofo to get off your frame again. It is super sticky. Not sure how well it protects but it is pretty thick compared to other clear tapes.
  15. At 19 we drank all night and raced all day. Repeat the next night. I fondly remember a race in Aliwal North in the middle of January. 40 degrees while climbing over a hill in the worst conditions. 96km later and we managed a second and third place. At that age you’re tough as nails. Unless you’re one of these new age pansies that wear skinny jeans and make-up.
  16. RC also gives me numb toes. Almost worse than what my 5.10s did. Bit disappointed. I’ll try it without laces done up tight. Right now they are fairly loose. I will add though. It is getting better as the shoes get older. Myne one of those old school shoe stretchers could help.
  17. Another great spreader.
  18. So you accused him of being a scammer based on an email alert? Next time just walk away. Save your eyeballs the trauma.
  19. Look at the pin in the middle of the bolt. I haven't seen those bits readily available and the chances of someone carrying that to steal stuff is close to zero.
  20. To prevent the standard screw being removed with a screwdriver try something like this https://za.rs-online.com/web/p/security-screws/6212631/?cm_mmc=ZA-PLA-DS3A-_-google-_-PLA_ZA_EN_Fasteners_%26_Fixings_Whoop-_-(ZA:Whoop!)+Security+Screws-_-6212631&matchtype=&pla-338160083922&gclid=CjwKCAiA7939BRBMEiwA-hX5J6NiB2iNnLrzRsx5rTFwYAvNGAdgv9iASgiQfnjxVuw2FvdhGQoiSRoC3kkQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
  21. Great looking bike. Dig the color combo.
  22. I had the same issue. Couldn’t find anything nice anywhere. Fox was sold out in my size etc. Ended up with the POC Tectile SPIN. Best helmet i’ve ever owned. Expensive but worth it.
