  1. The Johannesburg address belongs to FMC Logistics The photo on their https://seconafreightlogistics.com/delivery.html page is clearly photoshopped A ton of typos on the site. And then the cherry on top. Number comes up as "SCAMMER LOGISTICS" in Truecaller. I really hope nobody falls for this. Same scam ran back in 2012 with bikes being sold on super legit looking websites. This site appears to be hand built based on a normal HTML theme called Dustech so someone really went to some effort unless they hijacked this site?
  2. Pure pretentiousness from my side. I'm a boutique brand riding snob.
  3. Pyga is cool but not carbon boutique brand cool. You chose well.
  4. For everyone worried about their KOMs... Whatever happened to Digital EPO?
  5. At the moment i’m rotating 2 weeks at the office and 2 weeks home. During the office weeks i do pretty much a 20/4 fast followed by regular meals during the 2 weeks at home. It sucks how quickly I gain weight if i’m not careful. I snacked more in my last two weeks at home. Nothing major. A total of two Red Bull’s and maybe 4 lunch bars over the entire period. The rest of the snacking was mostly because of sandwiches. I love bread and rye is still a devil of carbs. Then just before the second week my IDT gave in and due to other obligations that weekend I also couldn’t ride. The weekend before also left me with one short ride due to injury. Went from 103.2kg to 107.2kg in a very very short period of time. Really demotivating. Weighed back in this morning at 105.1 which is nice. That’s 2kgs in four days of training and fasting. How much of that 4kg gain would have actually been fat vs water retention? The hardest part in all of this is how chronic medication is screwing me over. Easy to gain, impossible to lose.
  6. I use Strava for the basic things. Tracking my progress and distance on rides. Good to see if i’m improving on segments and overall rides. Secondly it’s good to see my cardiovascular strength improving. Getting older in my years and with a history of heart issues in the family it does give me a bit of reassurance that i’m heading in the right direction. 6 months ago my resting heart rate was 96 and i would too out at 125 on a ride. Now i’m at 75 and 154. Calories burned is nice. Helps to keep my diet in check together with My Fitness Pal. And the finally being able to track the km done in each bike to make sure i get my service intervals right. Not bad at all for the R600 i spent for the year.
  7. Factor in the weight of the rack too. Doesn't look light at all.
  8. I don't think that bike has a single thing on it that weighs 14g.

    Around 400 to 500km on a chain?
  10. Valid points. Ps. you might have missed the part earlier on in the thread where i said i don’t eat me. Maybe because I didn’t go full vegan with my announcement.
  11. I help to turn wrenches, plug tyres, and give advice. I don't share my spares. Made that mistake once and I was the one walking home while the damsel rode off without becoming my girlfriend.
  12. I do like the Wahoo products. This looks pretty interesting. I wonder what pricing will be? The 240x240 screen isn't too exciting but I'm sure it's good enough.
  13. Moral support. The whole “sjoe, ja nee. that does look bad” experience.
  14. Quick question. As part of mass farming for fruit and vegetables many animals are killed and displaced to make way for fields. During the harvesting many small animals gruesomely killed by harvesters. This is as cruel as the rest of the farming industry right? How do vegans feel about this? Your veggie diet isn’t cruelty free at all.
  15. Oh and always say “thank you”
  16. I think it’s on Blender.
  17. Don't ever stand in the middle of the trail when you stop. Get your ass to the side of the road. If there is nowhere to stand, keep going until there is. If you're on a one-way trail don't ride back up the trail. Ask another rider on the side of the trail if they need help. Especially a damsel in distress. Could very well be your next girlfriend. Even if you can't help them, a bit of moral support goes a long way. Don't sit on a slower riders ass. Be polite, announce that you are behind them and reassure them that you will pass when it is safe to do so.
  18. Sprocket and Jack carries some Leatt stock. Not a lot though. I bought my kneepads from them. Critical to try these on before buying. Shorts and shirts I can still take a chance with the size guides. Same with gloves.
  19. I have 4 days to ride. Would like to explore a little more. I've ridden Karkloof quite a few times now. A little more wont hurt.
  20. We will be spending the 12th to 16th of December in Howick and the bikes are definitely going with. Apart from riding the Karkloof trails, what other trails are recommended. We are 100% trail focused so no need to recommend gravel routes unless they lead to "Bat Out Of Hell" in the outback trails for example. I am considering a drive to Cascades though.
  21. What do you use for your photos? Great DOF on that.
  22. I really wish they didn't make that sleeve out of plastic/nylon. It just looks cheap on the bike. Maybe a smooth plastic would have been better.
  23. OneUp is going to bankrupt me. I use the EDC system in my steerer tube via the OneUp EDC stem instead of the threaded steerer. Getting the headset preload right is a hit & miss but once it's on it works really well. The tool saved my ass properly. I was about 10km from my car when a crank bolt came loose. I was really pressed for time and walking back wouldn't have worked. I combined the 6mm wrench with the quick-link remover to create an 8mm wrench. I folded out the all the wrenches and stood on the tool to get enough torque to tighten it up. It held up to 105kg standing on it and it didn't bend or break. I managed to get back to the car with zero issues. I use 110cc pump as well. So if I go out on a different bike I can move the tool across into the back of the pump. Simple solution. Not the cheapest but it saved my ass.
  24. Meant as "Baggies without a liner".
