The bunches were too big, especially with the tandems and then C4. The thing is, as far as I'm aware, having a license does not entitle you to automatically start in the Cat 1-4. They can make each bunch a safe size and those that don't make the cut have to fall into the correct open-seeded bunch.

So, how was the racing in Cats 1-4 and A etc? What's the verdict on the "strength vs strength"?

Yip, Engen Ride at about 6h15 on William Nicol. Bunch is big at the moment and badly behaved and today with the mist it was even more dangerous.

Just one thing - have you tried resetting it, properly? Stick something sharp in the little hole at the back and hold it, but making sure it's fully charged. Not to say that yours has this problem, it it always worked for me when I had one.

Spinny - I understand Cat 1, but would I need to buy a racing license to ride on the other Cats? This is what their site says: "A racing license allows a rider to represent South Africa and participate in UCI sanctioned events. SA Championship events and SA Colors require a racing license. CSA points will only be given to riders a with full racing license. " I don't want to accumulate points or anything, but would I be able to ride in the other Cats with a normal license? Previously you could ride VA etc without a full racing license...
