  1. Spill the beans - how much?
  2. 233 like last year! What are the chances it's smaller?
  3. R & A will not ship Specialized stuff to SA
  4. The bunches were too big, especially with the tandems and then C4. The thing is, as far as I'm aware, having a license does not entitle you to automatically start in the Cat 1-4. They can make each bunch a safe size and those that don't make the cut have to fall into the correct open-seeded bunch.

    FAST ONE

So, how was the racing in Cats 1-4 and A etc? What's the verdict on the "strength vs strength"?
  6. 2011 R4S only counts towards 2012 seeding
  7. +1 Confused - I thought that it was Cat 1-4 and then open seeded. Are there still Vets cats?
  8. I last spoke to him on Monday and he said he was going to CT for a week. He's not the best at getting back to people...
  9. Yip, Engen Ride at about 6h15 on William Nicol. Bunch is big at the moment and badly behaved and today with the mist it was even more dangerous.
  10. Just one thing - have you tried resetting it, properly? Stick something sharp in the little hole at the back and hold it, but making sure it's fully charged. Not to say that yours has this problem, it it always worked for me when I had one.
  11. http://www.iol.co.za/news/crime-courts/police-fail-cyclist-after-robbery-1.1013011 Just not good enough!
  12. If I'm fully licensed and get seeded Cat 2,3 or 4, but feel like riding with mates in A or B etc, may I?
  13. Who's your "Laaitie"? I happen to be a Veteran... Thanks anyway
  14. I've seen the details on the Hub. I did a search and couldn't find it. Anyone have the link?
  15. Thanks Does anyone still have that description of each of the categories (Cat 2- 4) so that I can see if it's worth my while to have a full racing license?
  16. Spinny - I understand Cat 1, but would I need to buy a racing license to ride on the other Cats? This is what their site says: "A racing license allows a rider to represent South Africa and participate in UCI sanctioned events. SA Championship events and SA Colors require a racing license. CSA points will only be given to riders a with full racing license. " I don't want to accumulate points or anything, but would I be able to ride in the other Cats with a normal license? Previously you could ride VA etc without a full racing license...
  17. The guys in the cammo kit that were obviously trying to make a point?
  18. As I understand it you have no option but to pay all 3: Club +- R50 to R450 Provincial - R75 National CSA - R75
  19. So do you guys think it's worth trying to repair a broken carbon MTB frame that was crushed? It's so bad that it actually flexes a lot by hand. I've just replaced the frame and so would anyone be willing to buy an unrepaired 2010 Epic frame????
  20. Exactly, hence my point about the wind!
  21. Isn't that like saying that on circular routes the downhills cancel out the uphills?

    Egg Beaters vs SPD

One word - Mud! Egg Beaters are much better for mud and the main reason I wouldn't go back to SPDs
  23. Me - Bike jacked on Spruit Family - various other armed robberies including one person being shot, but not killed. Kinda bleak to think about

    Thule Euroway G2

Yes - phone him and tell him I want a discount for referring you Gerrie 013-7523731 Cyclelab on their webiste, or in store, R3999 in the box. Was there on Sun looking at them. Gerrie is also selling them new, haven't seen them personally as he's in Nelspruit, but he includes postage in his price. R3500 is what he quoted me, just trying to make up my mind as to which one to buy. This is all for the 943, the G2 and others are more.
