Sooo... I have always wondered, why do you call pedals that you have to CLIP into "clipless" pedals??? Thats why I ride flats... Cleated shoes that clip into clipless pedals is just to confusing for me.

You can, but the cleated 510's have a much stiffer sole than the normal ones, so you might lack a bit of feel on the flat pedals..

I'm running the wolftooth 34t up front on an XT 2x10 crankset with ZEE clutch derraileur and 34-11 cassette. Did Mankele avalanche this past weekend with it. No chain slap whatsoever and no chain drops, and some of the terrain there is pretty gnarly. And you can get this setup working for a touch over R1,5k

The "dropoff" in the usn race isnt really a dropoff as much as it is just a steep(ish) decline. As mentioned just get your butt over the back wheel and go for it, feather the brakes to control your speed and you'll be fine. @ Haley. The trail for the 30km usn race is on the other side of the main road, so it is not near the drop offs you're thinking of. Those ones are fun though, just a bit small. Would like to speak to the guy who builds the trails about making a bigger one there..

Thats a very good question. Im considering swapping from Arch rims to flows, it would be much cheaper if I could use the same spokes, i think new nipples might be a good idea though. I'm sure JB can enlighten us. -edit- Im a bit slow on the keyboard

Mine started doing that the other day, thought it was leaking out the sides. Turns out I have a leaky valve stem and it was leaking out by the valve and running onto the sides. After the USN race on Sat it seems to have resealed again though. Sometimes it just needs a nice long ride to get the stans to seal nicely. Anyway, if you are worried, fill a tub with water and stick the wheel in there and see if you get any air bubbles escaping.

I must say I had a fairly pleasant experience on the 30km. Although I was doing most of the overtaking as I managed to find myself starting right at the back of the 3rd group. And even then I would sit behind someone until it was appropriate to over take and warn them when doing so. You're going to get c**ts everywhere you go, hopefully this looser will get What he deserves soon. Karmas a mother f**king bitch...
