  1. The one I am referring to is/was almost center of Germiston close to the Lake.
  2. Vitality Money, I would like to know who is on Vitality money gold? I have a CC with them and I have 2 properties, I have an extra RA with Discovery and my Pension with my work(Still not enough), I keep my savings mainly in my BOND so that they ignore (They require R220k saving to get full marks), I have some Unit trust with Allan Gray and still I am on Silver, what else must I do to get to gold?
  3. Off-topic, I see there is a BMX racing track in Germiston, does anyone know if its still used? saw the free-style BMX champs were held in Stone ridge, I am sorry I missed it, some tricks are insane.
  4. I see yours have Back-pedal brakes, some guys trashed their tyres very quick with them, Mine had front & back cable brakes.
  5. I remember those bear trap pedals - my shins still have dents in them.
  6. I had one like that with red padding waaay back in standard 4/5, I even had red tyres - brings back lots of memories.
  7. Yip, I go shopping at the NEWBALANCE factory outlet and buy the "old stock", still perfect. They do extra width so it suits me perfect.
  8. Single speed and ERG works like a dream, trainer controls everything.
  9. I am sure the people that does Vehicle wraps, would be able to help you but hold your wallet they are going to charge.
  10. And hopefully make Strava the new youtube fails basis, could get entertaining.
  11. There are guys that ride with Go-pros, that downloads very easy to your mobile and is very easily edited, so I don't see a problem at all, I think its a nice feature.
  12. I must be honest, we rode there, last Sunday the 12th of July and I enjoy the "new" route way more, a bit more climbing(feels like it) with some proper stuff thrown in the mix, my wife did not ride all of it be I prefer it way more, Now the section from the "old" gate is downhill again, so you can bomb it lekke.
  13. A small report back, I had Shimano M401 Levers with M4000 calipers on my Trek and is probably the wort brakes I every had, then I spent some Randellas on Shimano M6120 Brakes, Oh My word, the difference is chalk n cheese. The shop said the brakes will improve within the first couple of rides this is something to get used to. Well as @Jewbacca said I am one the ones that is over biked, now my skills must improve.
  14. I was thinking, at my age I need to calm down a bit, (not that I am very technical competent) I sold my Scott Genius bought a Trek Top Fuel and started riding "gravel" type of rides and did not enjoy it that much, the past week-end I went back to modderfontein, which they have changed up a bit since the heavy rains and the technical bits brought the smile back the smile on my face, I will be returning to give it horns, not that Modders is very technical but I think it has bits of everything that makes it enjoyable.
  15. Let me guess, prepare to sell a kidney in the process or bond your house.
  16. Separate question, is the 4 pot Brakes worth while? I am thinking of getting Deore 4 pot M6120 vs SLX 2 pot M7100, which would you choose.
  17. Which Garmin, I had issues with a Edge 520 but 530 works like a charm.
  18. Thanks Please Do, what is the cost?
  19. I sometimes have a Laugh when someone records like a 1 minute session and many kudos get dished out, someone showed me a feature where you shake you phone and you can give kudos to everyone that did the group-ride with you, even people that you don't follow, now that is giving random kudos.
  20. It would be interested to see what sealant was used, I know the specialized tyres does not like Joes sealant
  21. I have had good service from Garmin, recently I bought a Vivoactive and experienced syncing problems with my Samsung A32 phone, it took like 3 months but last week I got an update on my phone now, they are working 100% except for when I run with music with GPS on then the music comes and goes, if it wasn't for vitality points I would probably try something else.
  22. There are also many levels of them, the higher classes get very good reviews but I heard maintenance are expensive on the Magura Calipers, Like R2k each on the 4 piston calipers
  23. Just stay away from the entry level Shimanos Like M410, ZERO modulation, my previous bike had SLX M7000 with the "servo" function 10 times better, a soon as the budget allows it, I will be upgrading my brakes., either Magura MT6 or SLX(at least)
