  1. This is probably the most hi-jacked thread that is still cycling related...
  2. Cant remember what this thread was about…..
  3. The one on the right for mondays…. And the one on the left when you are feeling fast….
  4. I like riding up hills with my on-one, but I know I will LOVE riding down hills on the Tigre…..
  5. You keep on referring to a can. I have never ridden on my bicycle with a can to consume water. So technically in cycling no Bidons are Bidons unless it's a bidon? I suppose Boutille does not sound trendy enough?
  6. Checking in on the water bottle discussuion...will the single cage at least fit a black unbranded Giant Bottle?
  7. Forgot about those ones...Probably because I'm not a fan of the pocket rocket in general...too much fairing and plastic and stuff...Show me the engine.....
  8. Certain bikes are legends, the Africa Twin XRV750, Bmw HP2, Bmw R80GS (dakar and kalahari versions) amongst others. There is a certain amount of extra money that sometimes are asked on the selling price for these bikes. If you would look on the 2nd hand book value, the bikes are nowhere near the asking price on paper. Not exactly like a classic, where after a certain amount of time it's classified as a "classic" and there are recorded sales that kinda sets the market value. Hope i'm making sense. Also stand to be corrected.
  9. Nice, Always liked that bike. I would love one, but goodness the legend tax is quite high...
  10. HP4?
  11. I need to stop reading this thread...
  12. But did you try and lanesplit at the red traffic light?
  13. It does say a lot about the cost of the eagle…
  14. Crocs? Never. I’ll fit a seatpost bottle mount before I wear crocs.
  15. My wife insisted I get my depro ass off the couch and on the bike for a ride. Took a leasuirely ride out to Maggies farm for some chicken pie and nougat. Called my eldest to come and fetch us and all the shopping… On the way… Waiting for the team car…. Felt good while riding. Best I felt in ages. But it took me about an hour to “feel” it. Back on the couch as soon as I got home. Couldn’t have read oom Ben’s words at a better time.
  16. So It’s 3 bikes to rule them all?
  17. Made it back to the car in time for my 3:30 meeting. Also, had a really nice ride on some technically and physically challenging trails. Cant really start a weekend better than this, oh wait, it would have been better if I was drinking beer now….
  18. Well, I am taking some inspo from you chaps, and will be going for a ride this afternoon and then join my 3:30 (on a friday.. WTAF) meeting from wherever I will find myself. Enjoy your friday!!!
  19. Thanks Wayne, in this world of “niceness linked to cost, and if it’s not the latest tech it’s rubbish” this is a very big compliment. What’s important is I love riding that bike (not because it’s my only bike), and nothing else should really matter.
  20. It was a management meeting. Would have been frowned upon. Our other meetings normally consist of looking at plans, so trying to do that and cycle may land me in Hospital.
  21. I have received a mail, twice now from BMW SA, saying “ you may have accidentally unsubscribed” or such BS, please confirm your choice, pretty much the same as you experience Morne.
  22. The WA groups are special. the funniest was, the chairman of our body corporate, who thankfully did not create a group for announcements, but rather a broadcast list, and she still sent the generic whatsapp message to the list. anyhoo…this is always worth a mention: Do Not Contact Me register above ( renew every 3 years) and you will receive a lot less spam calls and mails ( from reputable establishments) the Discovery intermediaries and Fly by night investment firms will obtain your info illegally and still contact you.
  23. Sneaky Lunchtime Ride before afternoon Teams Meeting
  24. If it's a Rapide Tigre frame, 140mm fork and some other articles to complete a build, it's definitely mine.
  25. I decided today that even if it’s my last ride ever, that I needed to get out and ride. This whole rona thing and me thinking I’m constantly getting ill because of potential exposure has nearly driven me (more) mad. I started in front of my PC just after 6 this morning, so I took a bit of liberty, and made sure to hit the trails at 3pm. It was the best thing I could have possibly done. Being the only people on the trail made it even better. Saw plenty Game And realised the reason for this congestion, and other “symptoms” may just be because we are living in the big smoke, and it really is smoke season…sadly. Just to the left of this photo angle is a fallen tree, I saw a spotted eagle owl there perched on a branch a couple of weeks ago, and I thought to check the same place, and there it was, sitting, checking me out before it decided after about 30 seconds to rather find higher ground..what a treat. I did say, the big smoke… Here’s to finding ways to improve/mantain one’s mental health. Edit: Forgot to add this photo of my awesome bike. 7 years old, and riding better than ever.
