  1. I’m gonna start this post with a NCR topic, it will contain a C19 reference, so of this is a trigger for you, please do not continue reading this post. I have had many “scares” in the last while. People I have been in contact with, in the 48h prior to them showing symptoms have tested positive. Kids at school, who’s friends have tested positive etc. Not even taking into account the secondary contact. It has been playing mind games on me. What made me even more nervous was if the Berg’nBush was not cancelled, and I did travel down, and started feeling ill, what would I have done? What would other people have done. I have been feeling weird the last while, not sick, but not 100% either. I did a zwift ride earlier this week, Z1 so I could gage my current state. All indicators were within the norm. HRV has been all over the show, but I have had issues with connecting and had to replace a battery on the sensor, so I’m thinking, this should normalise soon. Did a ride with the missus yesterday, real chill and once again felt fine, with HR and RPE within the norm. Woke up today, feeling like I was on the receiving end of a fairly big party…. Decided to take it easy and ride with my youngest. 5kms of fun, I was impressed with his body position and general readiness on the bike, which meant he has been listening and remembering what he has been taught previously, a rare celebratory occasion for a parent. The wind in Gauteng has been no fun, and we decided 5kms deserves an Ice cream. I fore went the ice cream, and went for a brown fanta instead…just to make Patch and his weather a little jealous… my conclusion re C-19… I have had too many close calls to have been able to avoid this thing completely, the uncertainty has had a negative effect on my mental well being. I have booked an antigen test for monday, I believe it will enable me to make better decisions regarding exposure going forward.
  2. Not the Berg ‘n Bush…. but the Joburg ‘n Bush Just pottering around the cradle with the missus. My “leave” days was consumed by issues at work, being the only sod in my department kinda leaves me to sort out crap. joberg: Some bush: (I know, very weak attempt) Chill Zone: I’m seriously miff that I’m stuck in the Big smoke this weekend.
  3. From My experience in the BM moto world, its be st to get to know your bike yourself, use the interwebs for info and sort it yourself, to save lots of frustration and cost. Try advrider.com, not sure if they have the 4fiddy bmxes dedicated subforums like they do with the other bms , but there is a whole world of knowledge on there that may just give you the direction and answers you are after. nice bike, I have a thing for BM motos that started with the funduro back in 94…
  4. Welcome to cycling. edit: have you tried working on a car or moto? Talk about special tool fetishes….
  5. Did you complete your ensemble with the load road slim saddle bag?
  6. Clearly, I am a form follows function type of person, as this is not making a lot of sense to me. Water needs to stay icy cold for as long as possible...I don't like drinking piss warm water, just as I don't like drinking piss warm beer. This seems to be counter productive with black water bottles. I am also the type of person who's kit never match (think of a chameleon on a smartiebox) and I wear baggies on my roadbike.. i don't think it's fair on society to be subjected to my physique in lycra. What I'm trying to say, and thanks for reading up to this point, is that I am not the correct person to comment on this thread...
  7. Rapide needs their own sub-forum, where people can go and "add their name to the wall"
  8. Yeah man, Rapide's service is top notch.
  9. Lekker Lance, dit lyk sommer bef@k. Beter as enige aanhangsel op so 'n ryding.
  10. Speciolized. It would be cool if the meaning of the words are included in your post.
  11. Yes, because all land-owners are swimming in cash (This assumption kinda sounds familiar - I wont elaborate due to new bikehub rules), and they can afford to pay for a couple of kms of fencing.....
  12. My garage door remote lives in the house when it doesnt ride the passenger seat…it’s costly and has a mouth to feed. Joke. I do think having manual garage doors removes that potential accident scenario I removed the missus’s bike in a very public parkade. Lots of witnesses around. Lots of pointing and laughing.
  13. I had to read the thread 3 times to try and see where Justin got provoked, I do see that he has apologised. We all suffer from a bit of forumilitis from time to time.. as for the car, I would go with Phil, and go the full aerowing thule bars… you only have to drive the bike off the top of the roof once, to never forget about them again…trust me.
  14. I'm just glad we are still here after the chop....
  15. Been seeing moto tracks on the cradle loop as well. Now when I started riding moto, I too looked for every oppertunity to discover fun little tracks all over the show. However, without realising it, obviously it's some-ones land. Please educate me on the right of access to private land. Is it a requirement to have private land fenced off?
  16. Event Postponed. We deferred our entry till 2022. (Not sure it will be better then... time shall tell)
  17. Was hoping to have some nice pics after Berg'nBush this weekend coming. But alas. It will have to wait till next year. Now - to figure out how I am going to fill my leave days.
  18. It’s what should happen with every hit-and run. The fact that there were cops around, and that they reacted is what is lacking in a lot of these incidents. (Not even Talking about locally - we dont want this to turn political) Sadly, this only made the news, because the cops shot the driver, if he/she had gotten away with it, it would probably have not made the headlines.
