  1. Sneaky Lunchtime Ride before afternoon Teams Meeting
  2. If it's a Rapide Tigre frame, 140mm fork and some other articles to complete a build, it's definitely mine.
  3. I decided today that even if it’s my last ride ever, that I needed to get out and ride. This whole rona thing and me thinking I’m constantly getting ill because of potential exposure has nearly driven me (more) mad. I started in front of my PC just after 6 this morning, so I took a bit of liberty, and made sure to hit the trails at 3pm. It was the best thing I could have possibly done. Being the only people on the trail made it even better. Saw plenty Game And realised the reason for this congestion, and other “symptoms” may just be because we are living in the big smoke, and it really is smoke season…sadly. Just to the left of this photo angle is a fallen tree, I saw a spotted eagle owl there perched on a branch a couple of weeks ago, and I thought to check the same place, and there it was, sitting, checking me out before it decided after about 30 seconds to rather find higher ground..what a treat. I did say, the big smoke… Here’s to finding ways to improve/mantain one’s mental health. Edit: Forgot to add this photo of my awesome bike. 7 years old, and riding better than ever.
  4. Lord Miley Bolognese of Dischem
  5. Just Checked, R90 part... R500 shipping excl local taxes and clearing... That is a lot of peanut butter.....
  6. Sorry, cant help, however, My plastic container on my mini slim broke, and I was able to glue the parts back together. But it is made of plastic, so I was lucky. Not sure if Hario ships directly, but you may be better off trying a glass jar of some sorts as mentioned previously.
  7. The most popular would be Garmin, a gps unit mounted to the handlebars that measures speed, distance and HR (with a compatible HR monitor belt. There are also Wahoo, Gaint, Polar and others. Not all the manufacturers are recognized by Vitality to gather points.
  8. as far as I know, you cant connect sensors to apple watch (Bluetooth or otherwise). If you have Bluetooth sensors, you may be able to connect them to the wahoo or related fitness apps. This still however does not give you any benefit for Vitality points. Remember Vitiaity points are based on HR% while doing the activity, the higher and longer the duration of the activity, the more points you get. Unless you spend money on a head unit recognized by Vitality, I don't think there is a solution for you.
  9. Please send me your contact details via PM.
  10. Try finding stock of shimano BSA… my BB was so shot, it creaked like a carbon frame, but worse. Felt so rough, like the bearings all fell out and was replaced by little stones… but I suppose 3 years is not bad for a cheapy rapide BB…
  11. Two addictions are much better than one. Especially if they can be had together…
  12. I’m gonna start this post with a NCR topic, it will contain a C19 reference, so of this is a trigger for you, please do not continue reading this post. I have had many “scares” in the last while. People I have been in contact with, in the 48h prior to them showing symptoms have tested positive. Kids at school, who’s friends have tested positive etc. Not even taking into account the secondary contact. It has been playing mind games on me. What made me even more nervous was if the Berg’nBush was not cancelled, and I did travel down, and started feeling ill, what would I have done? What would other people have done. I have been feeling weird the last while, not sick, but not 100% either. I did a zwift ride earlier this week, Z1 so I could gage my current state. All indicators were within the norm. HRV has been all over the show, but I have had issues with connecting and had to replace a battery on the sensor, so I’m thinking, this should normalise soon. Did a ride with the missus yesterday, real chill and once again felt fine, with HR and RPE within the norm. Woke up today, feeling like I was on the receiving end of a fairly big party…. Decided to take it easy and ride with my youngest. 5kms of fun, I was impressed with his body position and general readiness on the bike, which meant he has been listening and remembering what he has been taught previously, a rare celebratory occasion for a parent. The wind in Gauteng has been no fun, and we decided 5kms deserves an Ice cream. I fore went the ice cream, and went for a brown fanta instead…just to make Patch and his weather a little jealous… my conclusion re C-19… I have had too many close calls to have been able to avoid this thing completely, the uncertainty has had a negative effect on my mental well being. I have booked an antigen test for monday, I believe it will enable me to make better decisions regarding exposure going forward.
  13. A thousand likes Ben
  14. Not the Berg ‘n Bush…. but the Joburg ‘n Bush Just pottering around the cradle with the missus. My “leave” days was consumed by issues at work, being the only sod in my department kinda leaves me to sort out crap. joberg: Some bush: (I know, very weak attempt) Chill Zone: I’m seriously miff that I’m stuck in the Big smoke this weekend.
  15. From My experience in the BM moto world, its be st to get to know your bike yourself, use the interwebs for info and sort it yourself, to save lots of frustration and cost. Try advrider.com, not sure if they have the 4fiddy bmxes dedicated subforums like they do with the other bms , but there is a whole world of knowledge on there that may just give you the direction and answers you are after. nice bike, I have a thing for BM motos that started with the funduro back in 94…
  16. Welcome to cycling. edit: have you tried working on a car or moto? Talk about special tool fetishes….
  17. Did you complete your ensemble with the load road slim saddle bag?
  18. Clearly, I am a form follows function type of person, as this is not making a lot of sense to me. Water needs to stay icy cold for as long as possible...I don't like drinking piss warm water, just as I don't like drinking piss warm beer. This seems to be counter productive with black water bottles. I am also the type of person who's kit never match (think of a chameleon on a smartiebox) and I wear baggies on my roadbike.. i don't think it's fair on society to be subjected to my physique in lycra. What I'm trying to say, and thanks for reading up to this point, is that I am not the correct person to comment on this thread...
  19. Rapide needs their own sub-forum, where people can go and "add their name to the wall"
  20. Yeah man, Rapide's service is top notch.
  21. Lekker Lance, dit lyk sommer bef@k. Beter as enige aanhangsel op so 'n ryding.
  22. Speciolized. It would be cool if the meaning of the words are included in your post.
  23. Yes, because all land-owners are swimming in cash (This assumption kinda sounds familiar - I wont elaborate due to new bikehub rules), and they can afford to pay for a couple of kms of fencing.....
