  1. So not UCI rules then? Wonder if we can pitch up with a 5kg bike and knee socks?
  2. I've got a barely used XT RD 12sp for you. I've gone over to XTR just because of gat jeuk. R2500 new I'll let mine go for R1500. Not yet posted on the sales side......will likely do so this evening
  3. Blast from the past! I still have some of that kit sealed in plastic in the garage..........
  4. I'll be there. Sounds fun
  5. Looks fun
  6. So THERE is the issue. And now it is Covid. Convenient.
  7. Jip. In general I think we are seeing the slow death of SA "racing" scene. I certainly hope so. We'll have races for the pros (100 max) and then one or two sportives for the rest for people who do not have Garmins to measure their time over a certain route and needs to use Racetech.
  8. Guess what..........now I won't enter the Satellite challenge or the Joburg challenge because they'll take the money and a week before the time just postpone that too. **** me, the excuses are getting insanely stupid.
  9. . BESTMED TSHWANE CLASSIC POSTPONED V2 (1).docx
  10. Race cancelled or as the greedy "I don't want to pay you back" organisers put it "postponed"
  11. Easy spin around Pretoria this morning. Crisp air.
  12. It would be sad to lose TJ. The racing will then be a lot different
  13. Once the new Di2 gets launched, I'll also have a look to go over to Shitmano..........first time in 19 years............... Bike any good?
  14. We did this event last year and it was a BLAST! Lots of memories. The Mrs does not like technical or long rides and this was the PERFECT 3 day event.
  15. This maargat used to go through 6l of water on a 130km race. Now I do 1l You teach yourself. And over hydration is a thing I have learned...........
  16. I'm not even going to try and respond........ English mags have tried and failed many a times in SA. Let's see if these guys make it. Personally I don't care much for magazines. Just spend my days on the Hub. Hierdie plek is soos n boom vol uile.
  17. It's always funny to see the Souties think English is the preferred medium. https://southafrica-info.com/arts-culture/11-languages-south-africa/
  18. "As of 2018, the languages most commonly spoken by individuals inside of South African households were isiZulu at 25.3 percent, isiXhosa at 14.8 percent and Afrikaans at 12.2 percent respectively. While English only accounts for the sixth most common language spoken inside of South African households at 8.1 percent,...." https://www.statista.com/statistics/1114302/distribution-of-languages-spoken-inside-and-outside-of-households-in-south-africa/#statisticContainer Despite what souties think, their language are not even it the top 3 of South Africa. Some more stats: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Languages_of_South_Africa And more https://www.gov.za/about-sa/south-africas-people
  19. Agree. The Giro was "doable" by a proper fit cyclist. Was classed 2.1 I think. The Rapport Tour was only for the crazy fit and mentally ill people, UCI 2.Pro or something. Also both races only teams could participate with organisers providing accommodation etc (all the rules that come with UCI tours) This Rapport tour thing seems like any other "participation" event in SA at the moment.
  20. I run GP 5000 on Zipp 404 NSW wheelset. I am guessing they have 80mm tubeless valves. So you do get. I have not seen in shops for after market selling but you definitely do get them The GP5000 are expensive as hell but hopefully they will give me solid kilos like their none-TL counterparts. The LBS told me good old Stans will work. So far, so good
  21. I won't try it on carbon wheels but sure......why not on something like Aksiums...... The lip might be a bit different? I am not sure. You can see on the tyre a bit of a different place where the TL tyre will sit against the rim vs normal tyres........
  22. Florescent combo
  23. Think I have posted this before but still one of my favorite pics of all time. Was a good ride with the boys.
  24. And then you have those slow mornings just exploring and not worrying when you have to be back home.............
