  1. Aaaaah....but you have to understand maths to understand this small blade stuff...... With the 10 at the back...........
  2. My dream bike
  3. In big events like this they seed the Vets. Thus only top 100? 150? 200? gets in the V groups and the rest gest thrown in the alphabet soup.
  4. The 2.4km gravel road/"we are working on the road and will post an ambulance nearby" is a bit worrisome at this stage of the game.
  5. I would pay good money for this. No one out there doing it commercially. and I don't have the patients or finesse to do it myself.
  6. uuuuummmmm.......R2900 entry......5 stages......my maths is normally *** but yeah....it's not a grand a stage. More like R580. Almost half of what you got? But I do see ASG is screwing the pooch now with a higher entry fee closer to the time. Fact is...and I am not being facetious here.....my entry.....plus my food and accommodation cost less than what my "normal" 4 day trip down to the "August in March" works me out in previous years. So I am happy. That said, it helps not taking the family down as I can book accommodation cheap and nasty and live off slap chips and 2min noodles.
  7. Jip.....also thinking that exact same thing........stupidity has no cure right. But I do want to give it a go before ASG completely ****s it up and it goes off the calendar......or maybe it is already FUBAR. Who knows. Definitely not angry about the CTCT. I did ride my bike 80+ kilos that day it was cancelled. Still enjoyed it and the views was great. Just voting (As sooooo many others have done last year) with my wallet this time around! So I'll do most of the nice route the day before but wont fork out that entry fee. Quite an easy decision really.
  8. I'm heading down for the TOGH. Won't go through the trouble of booking accommodation and entry for the CTCT. Maybe stay over on Friday and do a chilled ride over Suikerbossie and Chappies for free(Depends if this short route **** is not going to interfere with my plans) and then head back to Gagateng on Saturday.
  9. Not needed. They don't fill up that fast anymore. Price....economy......couple of cancellations.....boom.....demand dies down
  10. Online: https://www.gpm-sports.co.za/ But hell they are expensive
  11. It's Africa. Those two are the same
  12. EF Education?
  13. .
  14. At the Lormar race this past weekend.
  15. Might be.........not 100% sure. Looks like it yes
  16. I wonder how long it will be until one can get hold of the new Schwalbe Pro One tires. https://www.velonews.com/2019/08/news/first-ride-schwalbes-light-fast-and-souplesse-pro-one-tire_499835 I see Germany will have stock this month somewhere...........
  17. Going to play devils advocate here............ I don't get this sentiment. You have a better chance of dying in you car today on the roads that what happened in the event at LC. Statistically I am sure (I don't have the facts and is based on personal gut feeling) you have a better chance of dying of a heart attack rather than getting hit by a car on a bicycle. More people have been seriously hurt and careers ended by just competing and crashed with other BICYCLES in a race..........no cars involved at all. There are NO guarantees in life. If your ticket is punched, you are out of here. Sure you should live responsible and not go out of your way to look for trouble but I am for SURE as hell not going to base my decisions on participating in an event based upon full road closure or not. Something will kill you, don't worry. I'd rather enjoy and make the most of that journey leading up to that day........and that includes racing my bike with other cyclists. But that is just me.
  18. Excellent. Just finished with everything that was on Netflix. Also watching the new season 5 of Bosch as well as new season of Ballers.
  19. Watse ge PSI is hierdie???? We live in SA. We braai and do metric system.
  20. 2020 yes.
  21. You should see WKO 5...........Way WAY too much info................ Overkill.
  22. 2008 was close yes. 2:16. Why was the race that fast that year? 2002 was my fastest. Sucking wheel shamelessly on my Trek 5500 (and got dropped from the Elite bunch). We finished on Kyalami that year and judging by the kiekies, we did it clockwise. Maybe it was the secret socks that I wore that year?
  23. And on a bad day? You spend it on the back of a sweeper vehicle when you got dropped out of the bunch and the cars cannot wait for you. Given that it was the year we had to do 200km in the "94.7" I was definitely not up to the task.
