  5. Sounds about right............. VA did 'n blistering speed. Add the stoppages and you get around 2:20-2:25
  6. The UCI has rules for sock length........I am very certain there are rules wrt this.............
  7. My current seeding as it stands.........12.9 Correct seeding should they add 8min.........7.4 Interesting.
  8. So their race time should be adjusted by 8min at least. So they took shortcut and still got the win? Back in my day, the guy that crossed the line first was the guy that did the full course. Irrespective of circumstances........... Hell, two years back the Comm took us the wrong route and promptly turned us around and marched us back to where it all went wrong. I guy that got dropped 40km back took the correct turn and won the race. This was at the Carnival City.
  9. The winning times does not include Tom Jenkins and was on a different route. I am guessing 10km shorter also?
  10. Same issue here..............
  11. You're vegan right? Or at least you do crossfit.........
  12. After reading all that, I have decided to stop eating for a couple of weeks.
  13. BS. Go ask the Trailseeker series organisers. They handle around 1000-2000 entrants with automated - no need to get numbers - system. And it works. Seeding is done good and they obviously make some money. And they host CSA athletes. Just ask them and see where it takes you........maybe they have an idea or two that you can use that can get your events to grow like theirs did........ Just a thought...........
  14. Aaaaah....but you have to understand maths to understand this small blade stuff...... With the 10 at the back...........
  15. My dream bike
  16. The 2.4km gravel road/"we are working on the road and will post an ambulance nearby" is a bit worrisome at this stage of the game.
  17. I would pay good money for this. No one out there doing it commercially. and I don't have the patients or finesse to do it myself.

  22. I wonder how long it will be until one can get hold of the new Schwalbe Pro One tires. https://www.velonews.com/2019/08/news/first-ride-schwalbes-light-fast-and-souplesse-pro-one-tire_499835 I see Germany will have stock this month somewhere...........
  23. Going to play devils advocate here............ I don't get this sentiment. You have a better chance of dying in you car today on the roads that what happened in the event at LC. Statistically I am sure (I don't have the facts and is based on personal gut feeling) you have a better chance of dying of a heart attack rather than getting hit by a car on a bicycle. More people have been seriously hurt and careers ended by just competing and crashed with other BICYCLES in a race..........no cars involved at all. There are NO guarantees in life. If your ticket is punched, you are out of here. Sure you should live responsible and not go out of your way to look for trouble but I am for SURE as hell not going to base my decisions on participating in an event based upon full road closure or not. Something will kill you, don't worry. I'd rather enjoy and make the most of that journey leading up to that day........and that includes racing my bike with other cyclists. But that is just me.
