If people remember there will always be someone faster than them & compete with themselves rather that someone else they might even achieve better results in races. I guess races are there for the purpose of both racing & enjoyable-fast-riding (for lack of better word / term) Might even add fun riding & testing one self. If rolling easier over terrain & pedalling is the problem, then ride road MTB is for bumps & rocks & dirt &... I love my 26" Giant. Might just upgrade from my Trance to a Reign... 29er doesn't bother me at all.

David received a parrot for his birthday. The parrot was fully grown with a bad attitude and worse vocabulary. Every other word was an obscenity. Those that weren't expletives, were to say the least, rude. David tried hard to change the bird's attitude and was constantly saying polite words, playing soft music, anything he could think of. Nothing worked. He yelled at the bird and the bird yelled back. He shocked the bird and the bird just got more angry and more rude. Finally, in a moment of desperation, David put the bird in the freezer, just for a few moments. He heard the bird squawk and kick and scream-then suddenly, there was quiet. David was frightened that he might have hurt the bird and quickly opened the freezer door. The parrot calmly stepped out and said "I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions. I'll endeavour at once to correct my behaviour. I really am truly sorry and beg your forgiveness." David was astonished at the bird's change in attitude and was about to ask what had made such a dramatic change when the parrot continued, "May I ask what did the chicken do?"

Maybe not the right place to shout out about it, but you guys should try the Mweni marathon / trail run next year (usually round the 15th of May) http://www.trailrunning.co.za/events_detail.php?id=99&type=past It's a 42km trail run. Start & stop at Mweni cultural centre. If memory serves me well you climb 1800m & descend the same via 2 of the drakensberg's most beautfull passes. Did this in 2010 & it's a killer (in all aspects) - Cost were like +-R120 (150?)

I'll mostly be stocking up on some tools: BB (hollow style) Does anyone know if this tool will also be able to remove the centre lock nut on a 15mm thru axle? Cassette remover - shimano CrankBrothers Multi tool New CO2 pump (any recommendations?) Thx. J

Did my 20km morning trail this morning on my Giant trance & was a whole 4.5mins faster than with my ht Merida. Both 9spd & +- same weight. Guess this might just be because I do the downhill stuff faster? Haven't taken a 29er on a decent track, so can't really comment...

First off @ Pain or Shine: Zeitgeist is a load of crap! Have you actually went & searched if his statements were true? You can google the zeitgeist debunked if you haven't done so. @ The Crow: I hear you. Thing is the whole world pushes against true christianity (as stated in the Bible what would happen at the end time-the apostasy) Homosexuals push hard to get what they want. Apparently in the USA you have to teach your child from a very early age about homesexuality. Nevermind it being sick-isn't that 'forcing' something down your throat as well? No one makes a big thing out of it otherwise christianity gets the bad label once more... Remember the Sudetenland issue? All of the sudden it was Poland that stood in the way of peace? & Hitler reluctently (is it the correct word?) took the Sudetenland for peace, but it was him in the first place that wanted to invade poland, but couldn't because of their military & the protection the area gave them. Is the term reversal of causality? It's what's happening today with christianity- a chain is only as strong as it's weakest link. If 1 christian (which is also just a human being) stumbles others point the finger.

I wanted to say there's too much proof (but as I don't have any of the scrolls-lol- I left it out) About the witnesses. Have you noticed in the scripture that Pilate (rome) made sure the jews could not remove Jesus's body & 'fake' His resurrection. By that time the jews didn't even believe that He would rise from the dead. With todays' technology they could even tell if the writer was right or left handed, the angle at which he wrote etc. Hebrew was from right to left (remember all languages flow towards jerusalem-pretty useless info, but provocative) There's too many spot on prophecies in the Bible (Daniel / Revelation & even many other prophets)to make it off as just a good read or good guide line. It happens as predicted. Just read the psalms. It was written few hundered years before the crucifixion (or even before crucifixion was invented) & predicts it, of a certain Man... Interesting how Jerusalem becomes so important to the world. It's been written & so it'll happen. God says what He means & means what He says (said if you prefer). I rather do my own studies on certain subjects / chapters / books in the Bible & some mp3 material. thing is most of us have got an upbringing that had a certain religous view. If someone would at least spend a fair amount of time on the subject & with an open mind the subject of religion / faith seems to be not so far fetched after all. Good statements there. Even you have to admit that religious nutters do have a certain extent of logic. For 1: As society push out God & religion / faith in modern times it is obvious to see the crime rates hiking. I see it as logic enough. Look at what happened the year the USA done away with the 10 commandments with the sudden hike in crime... It's the 10 commandments from an imaginary / invisible person we're talking about there. OK-maybe we're on the wrong foot here. Didn't want to step on any toes- I am sorry. 1. Surely it's better to be a good person, right? Being a good or even an awesome person doesn't make you sinless, so who eliminates your sin if you are good, awesome etc.? If good is good enough for you, fine with me. Fight the good fight. 2. As I've said I'm still very new to faith. Have grown up attending church & since I've started to actually read the Bible you see a lot of differences in what they are teaching sometimes. I'm starting to scratch the surface. I'm with you on the first mentioned there-the nutters. Most people that call themselves christians are in fact a bit nutty. (you can call me nutty if you want-I'm still 'learning the right path'), but again: by just being a good father / husband / worker / man / rider / manager / diver (whatever) won't make justifiable before God. You have to have faith. The walk by faith on the other hand is not a new testament idea. Hab 2:4 View it as you want, but they tried to cover themselves- period? They sowed fig leaves together-not God. & it wasn't an apple, was it? I've actually got many personal & online atheist friends that respcet my opinion & not argue with me over it.
