  1. Has anyone tried to put up a sign at both ends / starts to state some basic rules? Ie: climbing riders have right of way.
  2. I suggest you scan through the classifieds & sort of 'compare' to yours as you know the exact condition of your parts. Ie: When replaced, serviced & km's done. Scratches to the frame etc. Good luck with the sale
  3. I'm not wanting in on the 'fight' as I haven't started it (too intersting just between you 2), but an observation I made on your fisrt post in this thread. You actually said "you" "you" , so I assume you spoke to Tokyo. Now who made it personal first? Just an observation
  4. I lost round count - LOL
  5. & you are been seen as a 'lower form of human' (eg) for residing in the free state, but those same people forget they're only super human & make mistakes themselves. Ie: being stuck on the highway without petrol...
  6. I've been looking for an 'older' (std head tube) reign frame for quite some time. A friend of mine has got 1 & he's loving it. I took a spin on it & like it as well, but haven't been able to tweak it nicely that it fits better than my trance. The trance kicks ass & I'm pretty sure the Reign will too !!! (only a little more )
  7. Bought a wheelset from them & only great service (haven't had to ask for aftersales service though) Bibs might be a toughy to exchange. I've seen a similar issue on thehub not too long ago.
  8. Yes - thanx I've seen them on crc. About half the price before shipping & taxes. Considered getting 2 pairs as the price is very good.
  9. Anyone from rustenburg that can go check it out (from a distance) & confirm adress etc. MF should get a shotgun anema if the dog was killed on purpose like this!
  10. Or would these soles be grippier?
  11. How grippy are these: http://dialdbikes.co.za/five-ten-spitfire-shoe.html
  12. I'm in 2 minds of either getting Neutrons or the Protons , but you said the 'inner' pins chow the soles fast. So the Neutrons might be a better (read longevity) option here. I suppose the grip on the Neutrons are good enough anyway.
  13. What did you say? Now This pedal I won't try for flats! http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=17781 They'll make you try the tech stuff less than cleats - LOL
  14. I'm actually in that category that went to clipless too soon. Whenever I do a bunny hop I do the pull thing which is gonna bite me in the a$$ soon. Also looking into getting some flats to get my technique up to scratch. Maybe a very relative question, but which 5ten's are better? Mostly trail riding & the XC to get to the trail. Also want to focus on learning to bunny hop properly as well as some light jumping.
  15. Sounds interesting. Just remember NOT to try to pedal!
  16. Couldn't believe it when I heard it! I only really "sank in" this morning. RIP Burry! Condolences to the families as well.
  17. I besides bearing replacements - how does the 5.5 compare to the Shova?
  18. I actually did just that not so long ago. The bike was only built up like that & had to take it out for a few spins just to get the feeling of it before cutting down too much of steerer. Atm I've got only a 15mm spacer in there with the stem upside down too. Feels much better. J
  19. I also realised that hard tails tend to have slightly longer top tubes compared to dual sus when compared medium with medium.. (or at least mine does) My medium shova frame is officially for sale then. Will ad soon. J
  20. Thanx for sharing Crow! That's exactly what I thought. Longer stem isn't the way to go, rather longer TT with shorter stem. I'm 1,78m & standover is also around 84cm (if memory serves my well) How does the standover height on the M & L shovas compare? I believe it's mainly the top section of the seat tube that's longer, not so much a higher point of connection of the TT to seat tube. In other words the TT angle is very similar on the large & mediums which in turn makes for very similar standover, right?
  21. @ cptmayhem: I'm running a 90mm stem on my medium Shova & tried a 70mm but felt a bit cramped up. Am I correct in stating than I should ride a large & a 50mm - 60mm stem on there to have better fit & handling (on the fun parts)? Not doing AM or FR. Trail mostly
  22. I've never owned a Canondale, so can't comment on first hand experience, but heard of some failures on cannondales more than on other brands of bikes. Hence crack-endale 2 things: 1. Buy a GIANT & 2. NO, I didn't say a plastic one
  23. 24. Great machines & great service from Steve & Morewood! How does the Monarch behave? Which model monarch is it?
