  1. Call me paranoid or sissy or whatever you want, but I always ride with a fixed blade knife close at hand. I usually ride alone & sometimes late afternoon. You never know when you run into some bike trouble & you only on the way after dark. Just cut off the hand that wants to steal - it'll never steal again
  2. This will be something to save for! I haven't tested a 650B or a Pyga let alone a 650B Pyga, but I'm pretty sure it'll be worth every penny - oh sorry my bad - randelas
  3. Download realplayer. You can download most flash videos with it like youtube etc.
  4. Sounds like something I did when I watched "beerfest" Guess what I did after watching it? (was drinking whiskey all day when we made chow ). Went for a couple of cold ones
  5. Very cheap. I paid R3200 for my corsa towbar
  6. This looks KILLER! I just need to really "up" my skills (& fitness) but will hopefully be ready for this kind of riding 'soon'
  7. Does anyone know whether TheV is on holiday somewhere 'unreachable'? I'm urgently looking for him. The last couple of days I tried to phone: rings until voicemail & also sent pm here & e-mailed him, but no answers yet. Other suggestions?
  8. Very nice indeed! +1
  9. Just sharing the other elec bikes as the audi was already posted. http://www.chainreactionhub.com/latest-news/554-five-futuristic-bikes-that-could-be-on-a-trail-or-road-near-you-soon
  10. +1 Steve is a very helpful guy & very pleasant to deal with.
  11. Just do this course!!! You learn TONS by just communicating with Johan let alone a workshop! @ Johan: Dankie vir die seels & die goeie advies! (Jacques van Bethlehem / Vrystaat)
  12. Not really. How many km's does a car's engine last? It's a very relative question.
  13. Your statement is true to a certain extent. I just think it's so damn easy to do & only takes you a while the very first time you do it. I do a seals & oil change regularly. Get the enduro seals! The outer seal keeps the dirt out & the inner seals keep the oil where it belongs! The rest (inner / damper) doesn't need servicing that regularly. The inner seals (O-rings) doesn't die out that fast. It's the outer seals that makes the big difference & like said the dust seals should keep out dirt & if they don't & you just ride your fork / shock then it's going "bye-bye"!
  14. You can alway take some pics of it in the open state & post them here for more worms
  15. If the LBS is going to take it apart then ask them to phone you once it's open & thern check if you can see an fair amount of wear on the stanchions closest to the seals is where it regularly dies. If you don't see the "sandpaper" scratches that was mentioned then go for it & service them! R2500 for a service sounds like a lot to me. The service seals shouldn't be more than R300 a pop. Front has the seal service kit & the intrnal service kit which means 2 sets front & 1 set at the back. Just depends whether the lower bushes needs replacement - have NO IDEA how much that could cost, but I don't think like R1000!
  16. Enjoy guys & gals!!!
  17. Based in the eastern Free State. Bought it from 1 of the walk in shops in the free state. Best price would be R5300 Let me know.
  18. I wonder how well the mud shedding would be on the belts as compared to chains. Check this "rigid" suspension - damn ugly if you want my opinion http://www.mi-tech.de/bikes/tykeroex_carbon29.htm
  19. Hey, I've bought a brand new KHS with much better spec than these 2 bikes you mentioned for R5500 & could get you another 1 (still at the shop & in a box), but only mediums available. Let me know ASAP if you keen so that I can reserve you 1. (PM) Specs here: http://khsbicycles.com/04_alite_2000_11.htm J
  20. Hmmm - now I'd really like to go!!!
  21. I was struggling with the compressor on my american classics & then bombed it. Just a quick 1 second (maybe more like0.75 ,but who's really checking?) then you can do 2 tyres per small bomb (not too sure the grams now) You can always deflate after a day or 2 & then reinflate again to prevent the tyres from growing balls...
  22. Green is my fav colour & this green makes me green (with envy of course) Will have a ride on 1 of these beauties 1 day, but I'm afraid that this is the loophole to trick the last couple of 26er diehards into the 29er game.
  23. Brand new KHS Alite 2000 (only Mediums - sorry) R 5500 SLX groupset with the exception of XT rear dedrailleur & Deore crank. 10 speed with RST air shock. Review & specs here: http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/bikes/mountain/product/review-khs-alite-2000-11-40998 http://www.khsbicycles.com/PDF/khs_alite_2000_uk_shootout.pdf PM if anyone's interested.
