  1. Now that's what I call a broken frame...OUCH!
  2. Looks like a run of the mill front end crash to me. Change the fork and it's back on the road by tea time.
  3. That sucks. I'm all for in-store specials, but why not include these types of specials on the website as well? CWC shop and CWC online is the same business, seperated in name only
  4. Bell for me ~ looks good, comfy, I'm confident it will protect the old pip if necessary. Save cash somewhere else, one small head injury will cost much more than a good helmet.

It's still 92 days to the 94.7, that's plenty time to train, especially for such a young person. So....get off the Hub and get on the bike, with or without training partners. Or... if you don't mind driving, go do a few sessions at Kyalami, if you can do 10 or 12 laps there you will laugh at the 94.7 Or... go to Suikerbos, if you can do one lap there you will laugh at the 94.7
  6. ROAG ~ 50 bucks and you're done. Join a local club ~ R200 or more plus kit plus plus ~ by the time you are done it is a Grand
  7. Stems, seatposts, bottle cages etc etc all fall into the same category. If you want the bling, and have the bucks, go for it. Will it make you a better or faster rider ~ not a chance.
  8. It is not a personal attack, it is a statement of fact. btw: using Latin terms doesn't impress the masses ~ it irritates them.
  9. This is pretty rich coming from you ~ based on previous idiotic comments and criticisms you have made on this forum.
  10. I often don't notice other riders until practically passing them. Not rude, just focusing on riding. Nothing wrong with that imo. And if the choice is keeping hands on the bars and not greeting, or crumpling my rims in a pothole, then sorry but I'm going to be rude.
  11. Your legs are going to be spinning so fast with the mtb gearing, your back will be the least of your problems.
  12. Anyone know where the photos from this event can be found? I saw a couple of photographers there, but can't find photos anywhere
  13. Thanks, but I'll keep my helmet on, seen too much close up proof that they do work. They are a small inconvenience for a huge potential benefit.
  14. Cycling = falling from time to time. Nothing you can do about it. Pad her up as best you can, put her on the bike, and tell her to stop behaving like a baby. We've all fallen off bicycles and/or motorbikes tens if not hundreds of times, most of us have lived to tell the tale (and become better riders)
  15. Must admit I feel the same way, that is a hell of a lot of money for a bike (any bike). Makes me wonder, apart from the bling factor, what's the difference. As a test, I wonder if a pro did an average race, say the 94.7, on a Dogma, or on a basic spec Raleigh, what would the time difference be? Any ideas?
  16. I think this is a great idea, hope it works out for the supplier, BUT: why so many Pinarello auctions? Frames during TdF, now this one. Two possible reasons I can think of ~ they are overpriced and not selling well, or they are worth the money but cash is not the cyclists friend right now. Which one is it, or is there something I am missing?
  17. That's no good. Where the hell do you hide the motor?
  18. Great place, really enjoyed our first ride there last Saturday. Only problem was we went right at the top of the first hill, instead of left, so we did the 10k finishing loop then had to go back up the first hill again, which the legs didn't appreciate too much. That added 10k's to the loop, so we finished on 68km in just on 3 hours. Only saw 5 cars on the route, of which one was a park vehicle going in the wrong direction.
  19. Same date and venue as the road race. Sounds like a recipe for chaos.
  20. So glad someone else posted this, was beginning to think it was just me. I have the same problem this winter, don't know why, maybe it's just a bit colder than previous years. Fortunately a few extra hours on the bike means no weight gain for me. Roll on summer.
  21. Just looking at that profile makes my knees hurt.
  22. Suits me perfectly. I'm nearly 50, still studying and have a valid student card. Gimme some discount... btw: I'm always financially challenged, thanks to this hobby/sport.
  23. No matter what the original price ~ once it leaves the showroom, 20% of the value is gone. As soon as it turns a wheel on the road or dirt, another 20% is gone. Start from there when pricing a 2nd hand item and it might sell.
  24. I agree a lot of second hand bike prices are too high. I have bought 3 bikes in the last year, looked at what was available 2nd hand and when comparing to new price at the time, it was always a better deal overall to buy new. IMO used bikes are a bit of a risk unless you know the owner and the history of the bike. I won't buy a second hand bike unless there is a substantial discount over the equivalent new product, to cover the inevitable issues that will occur once I start riding it.
