  1. Tip, when shopping online, download and save the picture of for sale item. goto google.com, choose images and search using your saved file. 3 results.... 1. > The picture shows hits on multiple sites, under different sale descriptions, etc etc = SCAM. 2. > The picture is a marketing photo, used by many sites, so obviously the person downloaded the image from a website and used it on his/her advert. Ask for actual pictures of the for sale item and if these don't get a hit on google feel a bit safer. 3. > The image search reveals the advert pic to be unique or only used by the seller, then feel a bit safer. In your case, I did the google image search and the same picture is used on junkmail.co.za, justpost.co.za, but under the name of George... The pic seems to be a stock photo... I'd feel uncomfortable if I was you...
  2. Nice... exact same colour?
  3. CK front not that costly, its the CK rear thats kuk expensive.
  4. Lol @ German.... I think flirting in German is more of a disadvantage, not the most sexy sounding language in the world...
  5. That mixed with the 29er wheels.....
  6. +1 .... and it will virtually last you a lifetime. See it as a long term investment. R 499 / 10 Years / 12 Months / 30 days = 13.8 cents a day.....
  7. Your wife needs dope to cope...with you....
  8. That's really cool. Keep her motivated, go buy her a nice running top or shorts next.
  9. I see what you did there... you made a play with words.... and you did it twice, once with the name of the famous cycle tour, and a second time with the name of his autobiography... very clever... hahaha What's not so funny is the damn mess pro cycling is in... We (our company) used to invest in an advertising package for the Tour on DSTV every year... the last 2 years we even super sized to an HD package... I can already tell you that next year we will not be advertising... it's sad.. and not funny at all...
  10. I'd rather be the one smiling while riding an S-works, even if it's at the back of the pack.... as opposed to smiling at some else who has an S-works... Just think about it...
  11. It's not nice to show us naked pictures and not tell us the name of the Stripper...
  12. Why, wtf cares? I also don't understand the "I tried to start a poll but won't work" option... which LBS accept that as a form of payment? You won't work? we'll then you cant have a bike, sorry....
  13. I take your point, and agree on making it more accessible... However, I do not begrudge anyone who does have the means or inclination to live their own lives... I'm not here on this earth for a long time, I'm here for a fun time... everyone can do as they please, I have my own life to live
  14. Evidently not as much as it hurt's you living in a world where you have a Raleigh and they have S-Works... Let me assure you they spend a-hell-of-a-lot less time thinking about you and your Raleigh than you do thinking about them and their S-Works...
  15. Just the point I am trying to make... the REALITY is that there are massive barriers for everything in life, and there is nothing you can do about it except for trying to help your own kids over as many of them as you possibly can, it's life... Do you think when those kids grow up that they won't face those exact same barriers in all other aspects of life? Sitting back and making a judgement on other people, and knocking what they do for their kids are not going to get your kids (or any other kids) anywhere anyway? The sooner one accepts that, and rather start focusing on what you can/are willing to do then better... If I can't buy my son a 30k bike, then I will make sure I get him the best possible bike with the money I do have... be that looking for a great deal, negotiating, finding a sponsor, etc etc etc... And when I have done that, I will do my best to help him train to maximise his potential and focus on his strengths as best I can... And when I am happy that I have helped him with the best equipment and physical training I can possibly do, then I will focus on helping him mentally, and preparing him to think, attack in a different/strategic way... always looking for an edge... And if that edge is to make fun of the oke on the expensive bike, and joke about the rich dad having a small peenus then I'll do that too... But to sit back and cry, mope and worry about other people's finances won't help my son buggerall...
  16. If someone can afford an expensive bicycle, and you can't afford it or "justify" it to yourself then that is your problem, not the theirs? Judging someone for how they choose to spend/(or not spend) their cash is either a stupidity, jealously, politically, or religiously "Injected" value... and sometimes it's a combination of these things... Who's reality are we speaking about here anyway? That's just the point of the word... it's all relative... to what you can afford and to what is important to you as an individual... I think it's perfectly ok to discuss your own view in relation to your own values... but when people start judging others it becomes evident that their real intentions/views have nothing to do with their "opinion" but rather with their "judging" of others.... Or do we want to live in a world where we all have exactly the same? http://images2.dailykos.com/i/user/3/Capital_Bikeshare.jpg
  17. Couple of things... just some pointers basically, use it/don't use it 1. Make sure you have your bike setup properly, I'm talking bike size, stem length, bar width, and especially the cockpit setup... 2. Learn how to brake with one finger so you can use the other 4 to grip 3. A DS 26" bike is way better as a "first" bike to learn technical riding, as it will give you much better confidence, and performs much better in tight, steep, loose and uneven places 4. You will fall off, a crash every now and then is just part of the sport 5. Suspension setup is important, sag and tire pressure play a big role 6. Maybe invest in a good pair of flats, and a good quality pair of flats shoes like FiveTen Minnaars or Sam Hill's 7. Ride with other riders better than you 8. Technical riding is super fun if it's your thing... you either like it, or you don't... but it's not as impossible as you might think at the moment... 9. Just enjoy it, go at your own pace, push yourself a bit at a time, let the confidence build... PS> when it comes to real technical mtb'ing, then road experience does not count as much as one would think , it's a very very different cattle of fish....
  18. We should also not kid ourselves, the perceived (or intended) target market for these products are active kids living active (competitive) lifestyles.... In reality the parents of these (particular) kids are active and healthy themselves. They won't buy this crap, they will actually advocate against it, as is the case right here. The fat, lazy and stupid people who do buy this for their fat and unhealthy kids will do so once or twice but I certainly won't bank on them for being life long dedicated customers.... These products won't last.... I also want to see any court strike against a concerned parent or nutritional expert for publicly calling out on a supplements company BS... It won't happen, not even in the USA.... Because you appointed yourself CEO of some silly company doesn't mean you are Mr. JACK Sheeet to me. If any of the private school mommies got hold of you Mr. CEO you would have your balls dished to you on a platter, lawyer or not, they got game.
  19. Dr. Phil, is that you?
  20. Yes, your 2nd hand 2009 bike is worth nothing, take the upgrade or replacement and be very happy for omnico being so awesome....
  21. You can keep ALL items the same and get the HAVEN CARBON BARS + HAVEN CARBOB POST, and THEN THE HAVEN ALU STEM..... dude, just get this... it's the best... The 2nd best option is the THOMPSON Seat Clamp, Thompson Stem, Thompson Post and Haven carbon bars....
  22. In terms of Stems and Posts, esp for MTB'ing, the is no question, Thompson engineering and finish is by far superior. Easton Haven Carbon Bar and Carbon Post, Haven Alu Stem - that's the way to go i.m.h.o
  23. Saint & Zee = DH
  24. Great place to buy stuff when you know exactly what you want or need, not the best for serious experience based advice, workshop guys are average, shop floor service good and friendly. Prices are reasonable. I would still rather suggest LINDEN in this category of lbs.
  25. New? Id say about 32k compared to what a custom build at similar spec would set you back.
