  1. Glad it's not just me who was disappointed in how it ended up. Would love to know who actually made the call to watch the penultimate 2 overs sail past. Don't think it was Dale or Vern! However if you had offered us a draw yesterday when Hash went, every single one of us would have taken it and run. Hats off to AB and Faf though. Our T20 and 50 over captains playing orthodox percentage courageous skillfull cricket. Maybe Faf is the long term no 4 after Jakes?
  2. I also swim as a form of cross training. Usually twice a week , somewhere between 1500 and 2 clips. I'm a *** swimmer but really enjoy it , and do find that it helps me recover from bike sessions, plus definately adds another cardio workout. Only thing I struggle with is kicking sets when my legs are tired, often can't do more than a couple of lengths kicking. I prefer sets with a pull-buoy and hand fins keeping my legs neutral.
  3. After the 6 th beer, how did you manage to keep count of what came next? Do you take a scorer along? My Maths would be nonexistent by then
  4. Cool. See you there. First for me next year, so can't help with the logistics . Just know rule # 5 will need to be applied.
  5. That mooty is world class. Also works for headaches I hear.
  6. Not the longest but the meanest. The last little drag up past Westridge Tennis stadium before the downhill into town during Shova when you absolutely beaten and hanging onto your bunch for dear life.
  7. I used one on my original 26, as just found the cockpit too cramped. Certainly worked well for me. Isn't that what they are designed for?
  8. And most exciting is sight casting to shad off the rocks a bit North of that. Nothing quite like seeing them smash the fly from underneath at pace.
  9. Nice setup Pieter. You'll catch plenty with that. Agree with Rouxtjie that your upgrade from that is line. Good luck. Your first trout on a new rod always a special thing.
  10. How do you attach them to the rack plate ( I'm assuming it's the standing type rack). Mission to swop them over if double sided taped on.
  11. Eish. How's that for a finish. Lovely chat from AB at the ceremony. Nothing like your quick pitching middle , hitting the top of off when you need 1 pole to win. That's class.
  12. It remains to be seen how many of the " old boys" that have been added to the squad actually get picked to start. JF been the worlds best centre IMO, if he's still on top of his game. JPP is a must to start, automatic selection before going to Japan. BB, also been a legend but maybe now PSdTs time to start. Rest the same as before, hopefully with a start for PL somewhere.
  13. Plus in Winter we still ride/run /swim in 15 degrees plus most of the time. If less than that we get really grumpy and have to put on arm warmers.
  14. Got a whole room full of bikes, surfboards and camping stuff. CW hates it keeps threatening to turn it into a homework room for the lighties, so I keep changing the lock.
  15. Haven't done Dusi2C but guys who rode last year said it was awesome.. I have done the Dusi Canoe Marathon, and its also cracker. Certainly not a walk in the park ( more a swim in the river) but its a great event. A must for every paddler.
  16. Fabes, Dusi2C is a MTB race along the dusi route. Dusi canoe marathon is the paddling version. ( in case you are confusing them)

That would be ideal, especially if you had someone to drive up with you and drive back straight away. Have to check with road closures exactly how to get back through town though. 03:45 is quite early in the morning!
  18. Well done bru. That's a great result. I couldn't get under 5 hours with my 20 gears. Was very pleased to see that rocky forest section after Mikes climb missing in action this year. Hope this course stays like this longterm. Best conditions I've ever done the race in. Times showed that. Never easy this thing though.
  19. True story that. Both will promise that they not racing.
  20. Almost always race. Even training rides with my racing mates are races cos they faster than me. Occasionally ride with CW, and don't race which is cracker. Even those of us who enter races, then " just ride" mostly race too. It's just how we built. Check all of us checking our times on the results sheet at the end. It's natural to want to do the best you can.
  21. Doesn't that mean you go faster downhill?
  22. Yoh, if you did that 75 at Hilton dirt fest on that ratio then big respect bru. Were some proper climbs on that thing.
  23. What's wrong with the Benjamin's?
  24. Then every time you remove it just open the quick links?
  25. Excuse my doffness. To remove the chain do you break it with a chain breaker then put in quick links to reattach each time?
